Overheard a teenager deploy "SHUT UP, BRO. You watch AI porn!" as a devastating insult to one of his friends, which sent the rest of their group into a laughing fit.

This just made me irrationally angry, but mostly because I didn’t realize Bloc Party was having a Silent Alarm anniversary tour
Discord analyzed my posts and saw me talking about the Bloc Party “Silent Alarm” anniversary tour and it was like…don’t worry about the age verification my man. We got you

It’s a relatively small sample size, but I’ve noticed it in the multiple discords I’m a part of: the dumbest, most annoying person on the server always turns out to be a right winger. Always.

Epstein class strikes again, undefeated in doing evil shit
Former Washington Post journalists have launched a GoFundMe to help repatriate fired staff members who are effectively stranded in foreign countries.

One of the richest men in the world fired them from the paper and didn’t even pay to ensure they got home.

Abolish the billionaire class:

i am trying not to joke about the Epstein stuff because it's so horrible but there's also this ridiculous element where it's like... discovering Dracula is real, he's taken over human society at the highest levels, he's involved in tons of evil and also he's a huge dipshit

Dagon is finally ready to see some action in Cthulhu Death May Die. Got to use some fun colors on this one.

2026 spin 2: Stone Temple Pilots’ Purple. I cannot tell you how many times I listened to this in the summer of ‘94. It’s the one with Interstate Love Song on it, but every song is good (except Big Empty, way too long and slow.) Yeah, even the weird hidden track. Yet another ‘90s collection staple.

At least they picked Jeff Buckley’s best song
I'm like hey what's up hello, we've got some new old songs

6. "Trap Queen" - Fetty Wap (2015)
7. "Damn I Love Miami" - Pitbull and Lil' Jon (2020)
8. "Lover, You Should've Come Over" - Jeff Buckley (1994)

(that middle one is the one that's really fucking with me)

At a party my wife got trapped talking to an antivaxxer who insisted on showing her pictures of how “the covid vax clotted people’s blood” and I can guarantee you that it only made her more confident in her bubble
these people seem like idiots

Last week in Minnesota, I watched ordinary people risk their lives to protect their neighbors. In the process, they not only won a significant—though not final—victory against authoritarianism, they proved virtually every MAGA social theory wrong. (gift link) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

Imagine being Stephen Morris (their drummer) giving your all while Bernard Sumner plunks away on the guitar like this is the first time he’s picked one up
they should use the best version, aka the one where Bernard Sumner appears to be having a nervous breakdown and comes in playing the guitar part from a totally different song www.youtube.com/watch?v=37cK...

A few more Cthulhu Death May Die investigators painted. I wasn’t gonna do Roxie’s plaid jacket pattern, though. So she just gets orange. That wraps up the Unspeakable box, aside from Dagon. 🎉

Started watching The Beauty because my wife was interested. Wild swings from scene to scene of a show that’s pretty good to suddenly just aggressively atrocious. In other words, a Ryan Murphy show.

Simmons is one who’s laundered the whole sports gambling thing the most. I know he’s had “guess the lines” episodes for decades, but try to get through ANY episode of his podcast without a gambling reference coming up. It’s impossible. But hey, he’s got Spotify money so losses don’t count, right?
Bill Simmons can be oddly silent—or, at best, tongue tied—when something bad happens involving gambling. I devoted a section to him and The Ringer in my new book, EVERYBODY LOSES, and am grateful that @defector.com published an excerpt today (no paywall):
