He appears to have bypassed legitimate scientific review to provide funding to a very controversial group. And there is this huge question: why are the researchers not doing this study in Denmark, a country that we all now know does not itself recommend a birth dose of HepB vaccine, while G-B does?

Nurse Kim is right. Look into it deeply and you'll see we need to advocate for ourselves.

Now, if only individuals had a way to collectively bargain for their common interests....
Fondly remembering this exchange on Twitter (RIP) as I sit employed by a hospital with mandated ratios and break nurses thanks to, you guessed it, the work of a union.

I want to know what "stacking" means here, because I think it might be the solution for at least one of my problems. Is this like, collating? Or having a single type per day?
1) "stacking" my meetings according to the cognitive load that they require (e.g., research, advising, service, teaching)

2) draft presentations simultaneous to writing papers or grant proposals - it helps with clarifying my thinking, sharpens my focus on an audience, & saves time down the road

This is beyond unethical for human subjects research. Not only was it an unsolicited grant, the study in Guinea-Bissau would involve deliberately withholding the hepatitis B vaccine from hundreds of newborn infants, putting them at great risk of death. Tuskegee 2.0.

if you're a democrat and you still think putting any human rights on the negotiating table in this day and age is smart politics, you're a fucking moron. economic policies? sure, you're all capitalists anyway. but you cannot compromise on people or people will quit on you forever

This is why you never give an inch to the bigots. All those centrists dems (Newsom, Mayo Pete) claiming there are concerns around trans kids, you're complicit in this.

This doesn't get rid of trans people, it just makes them suffer unbearably. Get your head straight: trans rights are human rights.

Guess who turns 95 years old today?

Rosa Parks & Martin Luther King Jr's lawyer. The lawyer for the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The lawyer for the victims of the Tuskegee Experiment.

The great Fred D. Gray. Who still practices law to this day.

Happy birthday good sir 🫡

how in the actual fuck do you go about inferring a newborn infant’s “primary allegiance” to this or that country on the basis of what their parents or anyone else has done?

this is simply evil. Birthright citizenship is an essential protection for the most voiceless and powerless of all: children.
