I seriously cannot get over how stupid it is to be cutting back on research right now #ThePoint

CSIRO 350 job cuts a damning indictment on Government priorities, misses 'golden opportunity' on research
The announcement this week that CSIRO are to cut 350 research jobs is another damning indictment on Australia’s ongoing failure to prioritise research and development.

When the Epstein Files are finally
released paedophilia will be a step too far for evangelicals, hopefully. With Trump facing jail I expect the stable genius to then be diagnosed with dementia. It will be necessary to pursue his enablers. They must already be looking for their exit #epstein

“CodePink said—that “the resolution, while disguised as a peaceful and humanitarian proposal, is in reality a blueprint for the internationalisation of the Israeli occupation and a complete denial of Palestinian self-determination”.”

CodePink is not alone.

UN approval of Gaza ‘Stabilisation Force’ slammed as ‘Denial of Palestinian self-determination’
CodePink said the plan “will leave Palestine in the hands of a puppet administration, assigning the United States, which shares complicity in the genocide, as the new manager of the open-air prison.”

Australian Labor PM Albanese is reminding me a LOT of John Howard, Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison (with his never-ending self-praise). Could we elect a Labor Govt with Labor leadership and Labor values at the next election please? 😠 #auspol #Climate #environment #fossilfuels #AUKUS #Zionism #CSIRO

One small(!) point. The way the debate has been engaged in over the last decade, asylum seekers have been conflated with illegal immigrants, illegal immigrants conflated with legal immigrants, and immigrants conflated with all ethnic minorities, you can’t attack one group without attacking all.

'Australian values' according to whom, FFS? Given that most of the Libs' policies now seem straight from the 1970s, I'd be fairly sceptical they have the remotest idea what this country's values actually are.

If Victoria is serious about real, material, lasting safety, it must abandon punishment and invest in the conditions that allow children to thrive. Long sentences don’t deter. They don’t heal. They don’t prevent harm. #auspol #Vicpol #youthjustice

Generations of oppression,
We look for freedom,
Freedom from displacement,
Freedom from bombs and bullets.
I've never wanted to plant tomatoes on our farm in Rafah as much as now.
But our land lies on the other side of a yellow line.
Our greenhouses destroyed.
