case_when() is my number 1 tidyverse function ❤️ this #rstats update

Very cool technical dive into how it works too, which I'm glad is consistent with how I explain case_when() conditions when I'm teaching it!

dplyr 1.2.0 comes with much faster and more memory efficient `if_else()` and `case_when()` functions!

The town hall auditorium is huge, so I'm going to need help to promote this event so the space doesn't echo. It's free. The line up is amazing. So please consider attending if you're in Adelaide that day.

The Canberra multicultural festival is one of my favourite events here although I don't have an appetite or bank account big enough for all the food on offer

This year's highlights were Kottu Roti from a Sri Lankan stall and a coconut/pineapple/watermelon iced drink from a Tongan stand 🤤

The dream dplyr update for my data cleaning pipelines 😍

filter_out() is going to be SO nice, no longer will I need to wrangle with annoying is.na() conditions

replace_values() and recode_values() also going to be a dream too, go read the post!

Are you a #Stata user? Maybe you work with one?

Have you ever found yourself copy-pasting from the results window?

It's annoying as hell! And terrible practice. So I wrote a blog post on using #rstats to extract results from Stata log files

It's incredible to see the linguistic gymnatics the media will perform in defence of whiteness when a white man throws a bomb at black people. It's not a bomb, it's a "device designed to explode". Get ready for he's not a terrorist, he's just mentally unwell.

I love that getting a toddler to eat is entirely a marketing problem

If there's the slightest hint of 'bits' on the food, it becomes completely inedible

But if I hype it up and it comes in a special jar called "furikake" (which is basically ONLY bits), it's the best thing ever
