An amazing view above the Minnesota State Capitol in St Paul right now.

This must be bigger than anyone imagined. 👏

These are some of the largest protests the US has seen in years.

Every time I hit something like this it makes me feel queasy. What illicit information was I looking for? The National Agricultural Workers Survey.

What’s working today for you?
For me, it was this cute watercolor tulips exercise by Andrea Nelson, treadmilling while I watched a fun episode of something, and the 5calls app.

Made fancy ratatouille for dinner. First time trying to make it fancy. Everyone loved it!

NEW: On Section 504. "Attacks on any one group will be used as a wedge to attack all of us. You may not personally know any trans people, and you may even be uncomfortable with the idea ... but letting this attack go forward will eventually hurt you and the things you love, too." /1
Why are Republican states trying to overturn a pillar of disability rights?
They may not be successful in repealing Section 504 as part of the attack on treating gender dysphoria, but it begs the question of what they might come for next.

Things that made me tear up today; Chris Kluwe speaking out against a MAGA plaque and being arrested for civil disobedience.

Washington Post is reporting that the US Gov't program to send free COVID tests to households will be shut down tonight, and the remaining tests destroyed. If you haven't already ordered yours in the latest batch (autumn 2024's) it's super quick & easy, price $0.00

Thank you Nick for sharing this! I’m going to list some things our family does to reduce our climate impact. 🧵
It can be a struggle to know what an individual or household can do to address climate change. This list of actions posted by UNEP can help us prioritize our actions. www.un.org/en/actnow/te...

Renewed our Costco membership yesterday because they are a good company. Impulse bought this delicious cranberry walnut bread, which I might eat a significant amount of today…

Make your calls. Go to your town halls. Ask your state and local officials what they are doing under state and local law. Rest. Hydrate. Make soup for the hungry. Don’t let people tell you that you’re doing it wrong. Not a sprint. Not a marathon. A relay. Find your team. Thank you.

Made 2 calls to reps, both in tears, both (I’m lucky) thanking them and asking them to keep fighting. The staffers and reps need to hear from us even if they’re doing what we want.

I haaaaate calling people but 5calls made it easy. Called today and it got easier with each one.

Avoiding reality and having fun for a week was a great choice, but this reality is hard to come back to. Can we turn it off and back on again?
