Meredith has always been a G, but it's still exceptionally weird and very refreshing hearing from a tech exec who can see through all of this AI bullshit for what it is at its foundation: a backdoor surveillance tool.
Worth a watch:

Head of Signal, Meredith Whittaker, on so-called "agentic AI" and the difference between how it's described in the marketing and what access and control it would actually require to work as advertised.

Things are moving quickly, but it looks like these Sen's especially need calls from *constituents* to vote NO on cloture:

Angus King (ME)
Amy Klobuchar (MN)
Jacky Rosen (NV)
Brian Schatz (HI)
Maggie Hassan (NH)
Jeanne Shaheen (NH)
Gary Peters (MI)

Capitol switchboard is 202-224-3121.
This is NEW today. AOC sent this 11 am. Friday morning.

Yes, your calls are still needed. The vote is in the early afternoon. There is still time!
KEEP CALLING. PEEL OFF ALL DEM SENATORS YOU CAN.

☎️: (202) 224-3121

Tell them to vote NO on Cloture and NO on CR. Vote is pushed to after 1:15ish for now. Situation is fluid.

The only public YES votes are Schumer and Fetterman. They need 7-8 total. KEEP CALLING.

Call retiring Senators too!

Gov workers aren’t lazy—we’re the ones fixing broken tax records, tracking down missing payments, and helping people when they need it most. The system works because we do.

Read how one IRS worker spent 13 years making things right.

How DOGE’s Cuts to the IRS Threaten to Cost More Than DOGE Will Ever Save
The Trump administration claims gutting federal agencies will save money, but cutting the IRS means the government collects less taxes. “If you’re interested in the deficit and curbing it, why would y...

Every. Single. Entity.
Here is a hard truth.

The Government is not perfectly efficient. It has waste, it has fraud, it has abuse...

The same as virtually every single other entity, public or private, that exits.

A large majority of Federal workers continually work to improve things and make them more efficient...

HEY EVERYONE REMEMBER WHEN TRUMP WAS IMPEACHED FOR DENYING AID TO UKRAINE BECAUSE HE WANTED ZELENSKY TO LIE AND SAY BAD THINGS ABOUT BIDEN AND ZELENKSY WOULDN’T DO IT?

Maybe literally one fucking American newspapers could mention this in their, “think pieces,” about what happened yesterday.

I will never forget the photo of Zelenskyy’s face after he saw Russia’s war crimes in Bucha in 2022. He seemed to age years in an afternoon. Watching him constantly cross the world asking for aid that should have been thrown at him is one of the deepest shames of our age.

I'm already so tired.
I spent the weekend working on my 5 bullet points. I spent the last two weeks backfilling for my teammate who had been extraordinary since he joined last March! What else must I do.
What we can do.
I made this the other night while procrastinating, mainly because I thought all the posts about the blackout were boring. It feels like there is momentum bringing people together!

WHAT WAS THAT??!!
The best way to confront a bully about the misinformation he is spreading is to confront him in front of everyone. Macron just did that.

So, uh, we definitely underestimated the $18M approx. waste for the OPM email... yikes.
We also had to have multiple meetings about it today. Well more than the “only 5 minutes” that Musk claimed.

New — HHS just got another email with guidance stating that they aren’t required to respond to the 5 bullets email, but if they do they should follow specific guidelines including:

“Assume that what you write will be read by malign foreign actors and tailor your response accordingly.”

Hate to rehash this, but it’s important context for why federal workers got an OPM e-mail on Saturday demanding “five bullets” by Monday night.

Real leaders prepare their people for change.

Insincere leaders announce workplace policy changes *on the weekend* w/ less than one business day to enact.

When you respond with your 5 items, I highly recommend you send it with a read receipt.

This will both give you documentation and bog down their email.

Also, not sure what happens if you realize you have an error and send more than one or non-government emails respond….😉
