One of the best strips ever drawn.
79 years ago today. The final TERRY AND THE PIRATES strip by Milton Caniff. An elegant capper of a brilliant run.

Begging you to understand that this paper provides a better experience and better vintage read.

'Gloss means better' is something we should all step away from.

Sometimes a glossy book is great, but not *every* time.
The current big drama in the increasingly stupid western comic book world: DC released cult classic title Warlord on a (more expensive) paperstock that matches original newsprint, giving a more accurate coloring. Collectors are review bombing in outrage because they think glossy = more expensive.

in your 20s, you'll come across someone who's wrong online. it's very important than you spend the next 40 years of your life learning and arguing about this topic online long after they've moved on, built a career, and raised a family.

Man its like just so invasive and gross feeling to see "Edit Image" appear over other people's images. Musk decided to give us the only kind of gift he can for christmas, sickening disappointment. Best of luck out there folks.

For those who need to hear it: Nicki Minaj took down her Instagram account in October.

This whole thing about her losing millions of followers and then deleting it is a lie. She has plenty of fans still. Yep. Her fan base is strong.

Let the FACTS stand on their own. They’re damning enough.

Audiences and spaces can be rebuilt. But if you don't cut off oxygen to something toxic, it will continue to grow.

"But my audience" - your audience will follow you and ideally the more people that join you the more you will mutually benefit one another.

My 8th grade English teacher went HARD for one bit of writing advice: No Two Sentences Start With the Same Word. Nowadays I LOVE an effective use of repetition, especially at the start of a sentence! But the real advice was "vary your sentence structure" and, more broadly, "write with intention."

I'll just gently say, re: Least Favorite Writing Advice, that a lot of examples I've seen are—while basic!—actually pretty useful and good. Dismissal of them feels rooted in narrow interpretations, misunderstanding the breadth of application, and/or treating said advice as law rather than guidance.

It's the one year anniversary of the release of #TF2 Issue 7! It makes me so happy being a smart part of this finale, and the reaction of the community is everlasting.

To celebrate, here's a meme I made during the development of the comic, featuring Heather's pencils/layout of *that* moment.

Creative people: streaming is not your future. Disposable, ephemeral, intangible digital media is not your future. Books, records, CDs, Blu-rays, theatrical screenings, live performance...these will be the way your art will exist in the world beyond a temporary mad scramble for views and listens.
i am once again begging all bands to put their music on bandcamp. i understand we are a dying breed but some of us still want to purchase music instead of just streaming it. please let me give you money! looking at you, deafheaven

I used to argue that gAI appeals to the mediocre idea-guy but I think I've moved on my position because I've concluded there's no such thing as an idea-guy because that presumes their ideas are actually interesting and worth pursuing. gAI appeals exclusively to the anti-social.
