Muting and blocking any account I see post a Sora video. I know I’m a drop in the bucket, but it feels like the right thing to do.

I don’t care if we need to say something like “demilitarize the police” so it plays better, but this is such an obvious belief moving forward.
"defund the police" was so obviously correct. I really don't care if it doesn't poll well. it's like telling me that I should stop saying I like vaccines if they stopped polling well.

“Autism is a modern invention…”
These amazingly realistic models of apples are 150 years old.

They were made by Franceso Garnier Valletti, who spent his life in the monomaniacal pursuit of perfectly accurate fake fruit.

This is a little about him and his crazy, astonishing work, which I saw at the Museo della Frutta, in Turin.

<Gavin Newsom screaming at his aides to "FIND A FUCKING SLEDGEHAMMER!!" as the Traffic Computer outputs "build more public transportation" over and over and he can't figure out how to turn it off...>
If you care about traffic — if you care about not being late to work, coming home to your kids, and saving your time — you have to care about GenAI.

GenAI has come to traffic management, and this cutting-edge tool will help the state better serve all Californians.

The problem I have with the “but he was a US Citizen!” rhetoric is that I guarantee the administration DOES NOT CARE about that, and I bet a majority of Trump voters also don’t. To them, “bad guys” need to be removed from OUR country, whether they’re citizens or not.
A Border Patrol official arrested a 19 yo citizen from Albuquerque in Arizona who didn’t have ID on him, claimed he ‘admitted’ to illegally crossing the border, abducted + ICE imprisoned him for 10 days, and would have deported him to Mexico if his family hadn’t tracked him down and provided his ID.

I wa a HS choir director and in 2014 a student transferred into my school. He came in the week before school and said “hi, I’m trans, can I join choir and sing in the tenor section?” And… that was it!
cis folks, i'm curious for you to share answers, if you want:

what made you start caring about trans rights? who'd you know/what happened? tell me the story.

I call bullshit. It is clear that Republicans will continue to vote for their party regardless of how much cognitive dissonance there is. If the Democratic Party continues to be the party of “middle of the road means-tested corporate liberalism” they will continue to lose.

Happy to have made the somewhat harrowing drive up to #boynemountain for a brief family vacay, but serious dizzy/The Shining vibes in The hallways here…
Why does this hallway give me vertigo!

Hey @komaniecki.bsky.social, I need second opinion eyeballs/ears on this one in the context of "video that looks like it's live recorded but isn't". Voces8 is great (and features a Western Michigan alum!) but this has got that vibe.

We did not watch the Super Bowl, but the number of people on my other social media calling Kendrick’s performance the worst ever or - worse yet - saying “who is this?” is truly breaking my brain.

First post coming from Openvibe, maybe this will make Mastodon feel as cozy and inviting as BlueSky does. If only there was an easy way to see and post to Pixelfed…

Trying to give this #fediverse thing a full-throated go with a flurry of #BlueSky, #Mastodon, #Pixelfed, and #Loops. Would love to have this feel like "the thing" and replace some of the other apps, but I'm especially wondering about local/community events.

I wonder whether teams, under increased pressure to produce wins because of the outside money they're accepting, will look at an expanded conference field, a diluted talent pool willing to move at the drop of a hat, and regular 1-2 loss seasons, and think "maybe we DON'T need as much of this money."
