Not many people know this, but all of the major political changes and social movement successes of the twentieth century -- from the New Deal to the civil rights movement to the Great Society -- were achieved because Democratic voters lay perfectly still and never pushed their representatives to act

I like honesty is politicians. E.g. here is Andrew Cuomo honestly telling New Yorkers, “I’m a butthole.”
Andrew Cuomo's debuting a new campaign logo and slogan ("to build a new NYC") at his presser in Midtown, where he's expected to make a law enforcement-related announcement.

His campaign says the logo's supposed to evoke both a rising sun and the crown of the Statue of Liberty.

“Defending democracy is a partisan act” so the NYT won’t do it. Let that sink in.
NYT leadership has shown you - and told you - that they will not defend democracy.

A Muslim son of immigrants might become mayor of NYC in part because he cross endorsed and supported a Jewish candidate and Black candidate, and vice versa.

It's a beautiful American story for the rest of us. A nightmare for all the right people ;)

It's so New York.

Jfc. 20 years since we invaded Iraq and zero lessons learned.
A final note of clarification. I am open to the idea that the US should attack Iran. But I am not open to the idea that Congress cedes all authority to the executive branch. No matter how many lickspittle sycophants in the GOP argue to the contrary.
