Peace, love, and justice are not abstract ideals. They are the foundation of the Beloved Community, and it begins with each of us to build it.

if dems want messaging help, stop telling people you're "fighting back." it sounds like you're being mugged. call off the podcaster search, take your ridiculous money pile and try opening some food banks and free clinics. hurricanes are coming and the feds have no plan. looks like an opening to me.

It's exactly this. 💯💯💯💯
You can’t say criminals don’t deserve due process when due process is the thing that decides if they're criminals. Otherwise you're just kidnapping people you don't like.

Since lots of people, including liberals and leftists, seem to struggle with this:

COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT IS A WAR CRIME FOR A REASON. IT'S FUCKING EVIL.

You don't punish people for the sins of their government or kids for the sins of their parents. And human rights belong to ALL humans.

It's been 51 days since ANY humanitarian aid has entered Gaza. Israeli Minister of Defense Katz has said: "Israel’s policy is clear: no humanitarian aid will enter Gaza."

This is a war crime.

We must end our complicity. NO more military aid for Netanyahu's war machine.

In Pope Francis’s last public address, he preached care of the marginalized, the vulnerable, and migrants, saying: “I would like all of us to hope anew and to revive our trust in others, including those who are different than ourselves.” May we heed his wish.

Stop calling it deporting, so MAYBE more Americans will get it. "Deporting" is sending someone back, after due process, to the country they came from, where they arrive a free person. This is human trafficking to a foreign torture prison for the rest of their lives. GET THE LANGUAGE RIGHT.

We owe it to those already there to make this right. In whatever equitable way possible.
Re: U.S. CECOT detainees, the main q is NOT 'did they ever allegedly commit a crime?'

Rather: Is the US allowed to deliver them into lifetime imprisonment in a notorious Salvadoran prison camp without charge, trial, sentencing, or consideration of international/asylum/anti-torture law?

Clearly no!

Dear senators who think you can’t do anything,

Today, Senator Van Hollen - through diplomatic pressure - got a meeting with Abrego Garcia in El Salvador. So that thing you’re thinking about doing? DO IT.

this is what pushing women out of the workforce looks like btw
As reported last week, Trump is going to kill Head Start, utterly screwing 750,000 children who rely on it for child care and preschool and a million parents who count on it to stay in the workforce.

Indeed, Jesus is our brother, but what about Judas? This Maundy Thursday, let us acknowledge that Judas is our brother, too.

If you shed tears over the story of Jesus being unjustly imprisoned, then you should shed tears over the story of Mr. Garcia.

"Lord, when did we see you in prison?" they will say.

"Whenever you did this to the least of my brothers and sisters, you did it to me" (Matthew 25).

On Tuesday of Holy Week, Jesus warned that when we turn our back on prisoners, we turn our back on him (Mt. 25:43). For my Christian friends, let us lament the state of our world and the church's entanglement with it, while also praying for God to empower us for faithful living in the way of Christ.
