Tonight’s Senate vote on the federal government shutdown should have been a time for strength.
Instead we saw capitulation and a betrayal of working Americans.

Air monitoring works -- and it isn't expensive. Folks living in towns like Clairton, Penn, got a boost when EPA required industrial plants to measure pollution. Trump nixed it, leaving many of his voters breathing fumes.

Plus, we have witness statements from others who--like most of the citizens caught up by Noem's tactics--didn't have their arrests recorded so they didn't make the news.

So much of this is going on in American newsrooms right now, and not just to kowtow to Trump.
Example: Consider how little is being written about the extreme radicalization of Silicon Valley.

Despite what some, including at DHS, are claiming, this video isn’t from a year ago in Chicago. It was Friday in Hoffman Estates, in my district, a street I’ve walked myself. It appears to show a child being violently detained by ICE. It’s real, and I’m demanding accountability.
