Included within this legislation was the Communications Decency Act and the now-notorious Section 230. What was originally passed with the goal of helping the emerging Internet industry as our nation approached a new century has since been interpreted to shield big tech companies from accountability for an ever-expanding variety of online harms. As we approach the 30-year anniversary of Section 230, we must pause and reflect on where this law has led us as a nation and how it has affected the American people. Because of Section 230, America's children are being sexually groomed and extorted online; predators are creating and distributing Al-generated deepfake pornography; drug traffickers are selling fentanyl-laced pills to teenagers; young people's anxieties, stresses, and body image issues are exploited; and terrorist organizations and foreign governments are targeting vulnerable individuals for recrutment and exploitation. And to make matters worse, Section 230 prevents these victims and their families from ever having their day in court. Practically speaking, there is no regulatory agency overseeing social media that could provide meaningful relief to abused consumers. The combination of having the courthouse door locked and no real regulatory body to protect consumers is harmful to America and it must come to an end. The time for accountability is now. It occurs to me all the yelling at ICE in MPLS isn't merely funny. Getting made fun of like this is awful for morale. ICE is losing field officers faster than it can wave them through training, and a big part of it is how little of this these little weasels can take.

if you want to know what it is like in minneapolis, I don’t even have to scroll on facebook to find a horror story. it’s basically my whole feed.

everyone i know in minneapolis is seeing ICE take people—at gas stations, taquerias, bus stops, schools. just snatching random people.
#ICE is LITERALLY in every corner of the Twin Cities right now. In case you don't know, here are the areas with the confirmed sightings as of 1/9/26 at 11:00pm: - Apple Valley/Burnsville/Eagan - Richfield/Bloomington - Midway/Frogtown - Como/Dale - East side/Maplewood - North Minneapolis - Shoreview Arden Hills - Blaine - Columbia Heights - Shakopee/Prior Lake - Inver Grove Heights - West St. Paul - South Saint Paul - Lakeville - Brooklyn Park/Brooklyn Center PLEASE stay safe! They are detaining and harassing US citizens so if you can help it, STAY HOME! ICE is currently raiding an apartment complex near my home in Savage. Lots of children screaming. This is completely unnecessary. I'm certain these people being terrorized are hard working, law abiding individuals. &S!#% &S!#% My brother's construction site was raided by ICE this morning and 6 people were taken (they came after he left to a new site so he didn't get taken, but some of the crew did). MN companies need to do a better job at protecting their employees. They know ICE is present visibily in the Twin Cities so they need to not send their employees to work until ICE ain't roaming the streets!! &$!#% &S!#% Ice is on 24th right by the resource center just started beating on someone for being under a blanket @highlight And if you question me saying this I witnessed it with my own eyes!
