An important step to have full voter enfranchisement in DC! @councilofdc.bsky.social should support @cmbrookepinto.bsky.social’s amendment.
Also interesting: Ward 2 Councilmember Brooke Pinto is proposing an amendment to fund semi-open primaries in D.C., which was one half of Initiative 83. The other half, ranked-choice voting, is being funded separately. If this passes, D.C. would get RCV and semi-open primaries in 2026.
Interesting: An amendment from Ward 7 Councilmember Wendell Felder and At-Large Councilmember Anita Bonds that would have delayed ranked-choice voting (by requiring a feasibility study first) has been withdrawn. So for now it looks like RCV will come to D.C. elections in 2026.

If confirmed this is going to blow MASSIVE holes in the US budget. It will serve only to transfer wealth from American taxpayers to the wealthiest Americans who are the hardest to audit. This isn't fiscal responsibility - it's theft by Elon, Trump and their grifting goons.

The House of Representatives is considering a bill that will lead to voter purges and widespread disenfranchisement of eligible voters.

The SAVE Act stems from baseless claims of voter fraud and is part of a strategic, well-financed effort to suppress voting.
The SAVE Act Would Disenfranchise Millions of Citizens
The SAVE Act would require all Americans to prove their citizenship with documentation unavailable to millions and upend the way every American citizen registers to vote.

Here are the options on the table (which are not mutually exclusive):

1. House Dems bring articles of impeachment*

2. Senate Dems play constitutional hardball and obstruct everything

3. State AGs litigate (and prosecute) everything they can

4. Citizens march en mass
