My most basic Bob Dylan opinion is that Blood on the Tracks is his best album.

It’d be much more fun to argue for Street Legal or Modern Times or something more unusual. But come on. Blood on the Tracks has never been topped - by him or by anyone else.

I like that the best way to describe how Bob Mould’s guitar sounds is to use his album titles. “It’s sort of like… a metal circus? Y’know, how everything falls apart? Right, kind of like black sheets of rain. Or maybe copper blue, or candy apple grey.”

spike lee's greatest work isn't Do The Right Thing or When The Levees Broke, it's his casting of Michael Rapaport in Bamboozled to play a character that is exactly who Michael Rapaport actually is, without Michael Rapaport realizing it
whenever I see people making fun of Michael Rapaport, I'm like, please continue, you are doing great

Belatedly seeing that Peter Greene, a staple of my adolescent favorites, has left us. He'll always be one of my favorite NYC celebrity sightings, anyone who grew up in the 90s remembers his villains. www.theguardian.com/film/2025/de...

My family, and the world, lost Will Eddy on December 30. I’ve been keeping the news fairly private since then, but I now I want to tell you a few things about him that you might not know. Here are some thoughts I expressed at his memorial service Sunday.

Howie Klein's memory is a blessing.
I got a nice new Frette robe for Christmas but I probably should have asked for this:

Sad to see that Howie Klein, a political and music industry hero as well as one of the best storytellers I've known, has died. He relentlessly fought for important causes and used his stature to help artists and marginalized people. Great punk rock sense of humor, too. variety.com/2025/music/n...

Large numbers of people called it before Trump even won the nomination: if elected, he would attempt to rule as a dictator. The prediction was based on who he WAS. Concerned people were called hysterical and derailed into pedantic "debates" about whether he was "really" a fascist or something else.
A video of ICE agents conducting door-to-door searches today in Minneapolis

The homeowner requests a warrant repeatedly, is told they don't require one, then is told they're getting it, then the agents storm in anyway

They also point a taser at her to try and disrupt filming
