Glad to see people talking about Penn Jillette. The 2024 interview was done by me. I found him to be a refreshingly reflective, self-critical individual who has remained curious and willing to evolve.

15/ Today we’ve published a deeply reported 5-part series. It’s about Albany, Georgia.

It’s about getting sick in America.

And it’s about what happens when the most powerful institution in town is a hospital.
As Phoebe Memorial Grew, the Health of Albany, Georgia, Declined
The five-part series, “Sick in a Hospital Town,” pursues one question: Why are people in Albany so sick when its most powerful institution is a hospital?

Margaret Orr roaming the Christmas parade route in a powder pink wig almost makes me want to go outside.

Looking at the crowd at the end of my street changes my mind.

I psyched myself up, bundled up in layers, and went to the gym like I promised myself I would.

When I got there, I immediately realized I forgot my keys and couldn't lock up my bike. So I'm counting the bike ride there and back as my work out.

As everyone knows, the basis of capitalism is that if a product is great you'll need to cram it down everyone's throats (without consent) for years before finally being bailed out by the government
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

There was too much going on to plan anything, so Thanksgiving dinner will consist of things we already had, things that were available at the corner store, and a single Cornish game hen that was in the freezer.

Worth it to avoid the grocery stores this week.

My body can no longer deal with the lack of humidity in New England. I feel like I've been trapped in the desert for a week.

Coming out of MSY was like being wrapped in a cozy blanket of soup and I couldn't be happier.
