I have a cat. I like movies. I like games of video and tabletop and card varieties. Will absolutely nerd out over fun stories I love.

LGBTQ ally as best I can be. Bigots, sexists, racists, and Republicans (but I repeat myself) DNI.
My Life In Games, year 1993. Doom.

This one is fairly easy. Doom took the world by storm, grabbed gamers by the balls, and told us all to go to Hell.

So they did. I was two years old at the time, so I...couldn't. For obvious reasons. But I did eventually beat it two years ago.

My Life In Games, year 1992. Super Mario Kart.

This was one of the first games I really got into. I never once had a SNES myself, so I could only play with friends when I was visiting those who had one of the consoles.

It was always fun to play this on the couch with friends.

So, to start. 1991's entry into my gaming list of My Life In Games is...

The Simpsons Arcade game.

This year didn't have a lot of options I've played, and fewer still I liked. This one just hits different, you know? Four players, each a different yellow family member, rescuing Maggie. Is fun.

I suppose to start this wonderful journey of my life in video games, I'll explain what I'm doing.

I was born in 1991, and I'll be talking about one of my favorite games that were released each year I've been alive, telling what I like about them, criticisms, and other things that come up.

So, thanks to @zachthenarratorguy.bsky.social doing his own series of posts on here talking about his favorite movies year by year, I'm going to take a different approach. Slightly. I still want to go through movies I like, but that's gonna be tough.

I want to explore the years of video games.

A few days ago I had the unpleasant sorrow of putting my cat, Blanche, to sleep at the vet.

Suspected liver failure, but whatever it was, it was caught late. Too late.

Rest well, Blanche. A little more than six years with you in my life made it Golden. I only hope I made as big an impact.

I hadn’t seen this. Kirk, the moderate free speech guy who did politics the right way per some liberals (!), called for Biden to be executed.

Meanwhile Joe Biden put out a very strong statement condemning Kirk’s killing.

Both sides!

While I disagree with the idea you should only speak good of the dead, I have but one thing to say about Charlie Kirk.

He's dead.

Good.

I am grateful for his sacrifice.

If he wants to die on that hill, okay.

Is the orange fuckhead dead yet? I have a mighty need to not only outlive him, but find a new national holiday.

I don't know if Andy Weir is here on Bluesky, but good god man, the two books of yours I've read have knocked it out of the park.

The Martian

Project Hail Mary

Both of these are amazing. And each make me get emotional and choked up on my feelings.
