Something charming about poor 3D models on Google Earth, like this high rise in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

When looking at the US, it seems weird to see so much doomposting about it when it comes to car dependency.

Sure, it's not great. But the US also has immensely good conditions to undo the car dependency. Even in smaller towns. So a little thread.

"Far from a peak, China's gasoline demand is estimated to have fallen 9% in October on the year to 12.5 million tons, with average daily use roughly flat with September..."

China's oil demand is entering structural decline.
EVs put an end to China's usual holiday surge in gasoline use
Tianyu Jiang took a 2,000-km (1,200-mile) road trip this month during China's national holiday week, driving in his electric vehicle from the southwestern Sichuan basin to Beijing for the first time.

The fun thing about the 2020s is having online features you have been using for a decade straight just start to crash and fail out of the blue for no obvious reason.

This coastal road is also being expanded further north.

Don't got all that much traffic in your district? Well here is a brand new trumpet intersection coming straight from the sea to fix that for you!

The beaches will also get an excellent view to eight lanes of progress suspended in the sky.

Real life freeways like this brand new one in Mumbai makes me feel I'm not actually all that outlandish with the way I do them in Cities Skylines.

Unintentionally gave the subway depot the best view of the city this time around. Suppose it beats suburban manors hogging that kind of view.

Folks in Norway swooning over more freeway development makes me grumble some. Taking the worst you can get on an economic and social level and going, good actually.

"Oh, with this new road you could commute up to 100km each way every day!" - Statements by the utterly deranged.

It's weird to hear folks I know be apologetic about current practices with the US government. Like of course immigration should review your social media and arbitrarily deny entry for unspecified security reasons.

Like my brother in christ, an oppressive regime is forming in your nation.

There is something charming about making decorative building mass. Nonfunctional in every way, just so you can get a nice square-ish square to use as a parking lot.

Had a peek at one of the desert freeways in Qatar. Where you get eight lane freeways with two frontage roads serving towns of 10k people.

I was caught off guard by it having a parallel bike road, which is 60 or so km long, running from the outskirts of Doha to the outskirts of Al Ruwais.

It's weird to go back to older media where there are CEO villians, and they are calm, clever and not necessarily blatantly malicious.

I have just become that used to the real CEO deal being very out of touch lunatics.

Noticed the most typical AI booster seem to come from either corporate, academic or programming backgrounds.

All have repetetive and dull complex work that can feel very pointless in the long run.

Egyptian roads are kinda wild. Country has been spending tens of billions on new roads, and then many seem sorta nonsensical?

So many four lane roads (or more) that do not connect properly, it baffles me.

No wonder folks just go for ChatGPT when college assignments will demand the use of a spesific 70$ book, so you can cite three paragraphs out of 150 pages that are relevant.

At that point making the bot generate something plausible and citing the book they want to see cited is a winning approach.

High Speed Rail 2 is such a cool project. So much construction you can easily see it go through the landscape.

So much work, so many bridges, embankments, tunnels and more, across really tricky terrainexisting roads and railroads as well as tight urban quarters. And yet it is coming along.

Boi I love going to college for all that peer reviewed knowledge that is valued so much.

Wait why does the picture advertising the master thesis program say MASTEROCISNCE and ACADENICE on it.

Wait why does this assignment text contain links for help resources that don't actually work?
