Credit to Morecambe's owners who have done a speed run on modern football, taking just six months to go from saving the club from oblivion to being odds-on for relegation and the Supporters Trust writing open letters to them.

I realise this probably sounds like I'm making things up or being flippant

The Times covered this "£4.5tn cost of net-zero" story too, surely there's more to it…?

But honestly, please read on and I'll walk you through it

This is beyond shocking - how can this be allowed to happen? Why on earth can’t they be released on bail? They have a right to a fair trial, appropriate medical treatment, & the removal of punitive Prison Service conditions. Govt’s ban on Palestine Action is simply intolerable

“Over a three‑year period, across 382 public authorities in England - including local councils, NHS trusts and domestic abuse refuges - only four formal complaints were recorded regarding trans women using facilities such as toilets, hospital wards or shelters.”

Transphobic panics are manufactured.
New data shows only four complaints about trans women in single‑sex spaces
A major Freedom of Information investigation by advocacy group TransLucent has revealed that concerns about trans women in single‑sex spaces are vastly overstated. Over a three‑year period, across 382...

And yet still the government refuses to act to end the injustice and ensure the safety of those on hunger strike. Plainly, this is wrong.

🚨TODAY Keir Starmer’s Labour government will have an opportunity to end one of the most shocking, shameful and monumental injustice’s of the past half century - the #IPPscandal.

I urge peers from all parties to vote for the amendment tabled by Lord Thomas if it goes to a vote. No excuses
🚨On January 6 Keir Starmer has an opportunity to end one of the most CRUEL, INHUMANE & MONUMENTAL INJUSTICES of the past half-century - the #IPPscandal - by supporting an amendment to the Sentencing Bill tabled by Lord Thomas.

Will he take it?

Starmer and Farage are going out of their way to make Polanski’s message about fairness and equality, honesty and justice more powerful than ever. They have appointed themselves joint recruiting sergeants for the Greens
Starmer and Farage both drape themselves in flags but once again it's really clear where their loyalty really is.

It's Trump first. They will always be on the side of the super rich and powerful - no matter how heinous the crime.

This is not patriotism. It's subservience.

🚨 “Can I tell you how many times in the last 45 years the European Court of Human Rights has ruled against the UK when it comes to deporting people from this country - only 13 times - in 45 years”

Please remember this in 2026 when Nigel Farage tells you we must leave the ECHR to control our borders
Human rights are universal - politicians may not always find them politically convenient but it shouldn’t fall to any government to say who those rights should & should not apply to. Because none of us then has rights, just privileges that can be taken away by those in power

It’s incomprehensible that a Labour government has knowingly & deliberately allowed this monstrous injustice to continue.

On January 6 it’s time to step up, put party politics aside and end it by allowing the amendment tabled by Lord Thomas to the Sentencing Bill

I've spent three days in Calais & it's horrendous.

People living in disgusting conditions. Our Government is spending £476m on the militarisation of the border.

We must divert that money to a humanitarian response that treats people with basic dignity.

So what if they weaken ECHR human rights protections? So what if they interpret protection from torture differently? Will that improve services? Help the NHS? Bring better food, air & education? Eradicate poverty?
Crushing rights is the most destructive distraction from the wrongs that need fixing.

An entirely ficticious premise....
The Labour government has released to the media more details of its asylum reforms - to be released on Monday.

Their premise: UK attracts asylum seekers because it is too generous + reducing pull factors will change that.

There is a lot of overspinning from this govt

Refugees & asylum seekers are largely a vulnerable, traumatised & disadvantaged group of people so to keep demonising & scapegoating them for political gain is disgusting & despicable. The end doesn’t justify this punching down means & in any case the end here seems to be the propaganda itself.
