I have listened and re-listened to Suzanne Kamata’s recent talk for #SCBWI #Japan, about #writing while teaching and parenting in a situation where all three pursuits have been very intense at times. Suzanne keeps going! 💪 Excited to read her latest: River of Dolls and Other Stories.

@wydobson.bsky.social The next will very definitely involve 🧙‍♀️🐉!
I hope many children (and adults!) will enjoy reading The Village Beyond The Mist by Sachiko Kashiwaba, enthrallingly translated by Avery Udagawa - so wonderful it's been selected for this scheme. Can't wait for the next book to be published in English. Maybe something involving 🧙‍♀️🐉??

This mystery place in Nagoya is maybe the coolest bookstore I've ever been to. Arrows lead you through the winding path of the store like a museum exhibit, all the shelves are giant books, and there are little sitting rooms/crime scenes throughout the store.
