Quadratic Equation?
I had a kid in my lab who was making a giant ✡️ for an art project. We were trying to figure out how long the slope of the a triangle will be as we scaled up from his model. 🙃

Me: Crap!! She was RIGHT!

There's white men on this website today talking about "AI won, pack it up".

So, as ever and always, listen to Black women.
More people should listen to @tressiemcphd.bsky.social

When people say AI is inevitable, let them know the future isn’t settled.

It’s lowkey nuts to me how often people will just *not pay* you in publishing.

MCM were supposed to pay me six months ago for a panel, and even with the publisher nudging them for me, they haven’t gotten around to it.

Just so we don't lose the thread.

When we talk about history, esp the history of resistance, we have to talk about maps, not monuments.
Monuments are not human and accomplish things alone by force or divine will.

Maps explain how a community of people got the work done.
This lesson sparked by an experience I had my Sophmore year of High School.

AmHist teacher pulls up a slide if MLK and she made that sound ya auntie makes when young Denzel was on screen shirtless.

Me: 🤨That's Martin Luther King!
Her: 😏 Yes. He. Is.
RIGHT?! We don't talk enough about how a (VERY) small part of our "leaders" impact was due to attractiveness and charisma.
February 10, 2026 at 7:43 PM
Murch it.
I will not support any funding deal that puts money in the hands of Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, and this violent agency. Defund and abolish ICE now.

Not only would white people have to now move confronting their whiteness at every step with the clear understanding it has actual impact, but they would have an actual historical context for terrors & brutality they think were invented yesterday, that actually undergird how America runs.
If every non Black person who thinks they’re about the struggle spent Black History Month reading only from the troves that have been written on chattel slavery here, they’d come out with the real prep to fight American fascism rearing its head now, at the level of every move they make.

And since I'm going to hell, anyway

Can we talk about the Civil Rights sisters who were asking why Rustin didn't have a woman?
And the Civil Rights brothers who knew?

Context:

Reading Radical Equations & reminded how so many Blk historical figures are stripped of all humanity. So we see Hamer in a very narrow "strong voice for freedom" rather that a woman who was literally fighting for her life.

Passion is sexy. Hamer was fine.
Ask Pap Hamer. He'll tell you.

Fannie Lou Hamer was kinda fine.
