As @ukhadds.bsky.social et al have shown in pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC... the decay rates of SARS-CoV-2 Variants vary with CO2-Levels, decaying slower at higher CO2-Levels. I used a Wells-Riley-Model with an Example Setting (100m³ room, 4 people, 550ppm vs 1800ppm) giving these results:
Chart with the Result of the Wells-Riley-Model. Title: IRP Count over time in a 100m³ room using decay profiles of Delta Variant from Haddrell et al. (2024) for 500ppm CO2 and 3000ppm CO2 at different Ventilation Rates. Assuming a Room with 4 people the 120l/s result in roughly 550ppm and 10l/s in 1800ppm* . The Chart shows the highest Value for a Ventilation Rate of 10/l s with the slow decay rate the virus had at 3000ppm. If counterfactually the decay rate would stay the same with 120l/s ventilation at 550ppm it would reduce the particle count by a factor of 2,5. Using the measured faster decay rate at the lower CO2 value of 550pm there is a reduction by a factor of 5. There is also an infobox with following text: There is only Data for 1800ppm at 120 seconds after emission instead many datapoints as for 3000ppm but as the decay is the roughly the same at that point as 3000ppm I use 1800ppm as example using the 3000ppm decay values here. There also is no Data for 550ppm but as thats really close to 500ppm I use the 500ppm Value as using 3000ppm vs 500ppm would be a very extreme difference in Ventilation rates - more finegrained Data would make this more exact, but this is mostly about the principle anways. Charts from Haddrell et al (2024), showing different decay rates for different CO2 levels, Delta Variant has the most pronounced Difference with just 37% remaining after 2 minutes at 550ppm vs 75% remaining at 3000ppm.

It's just a hot take, but I think all of the AI Billionaires who invest into nuclear fission or fusion start-ups do not really believe, despite what they say, that AGI/SGI or other groundbreaking AI-breakthoughs are anywhere near.

I'll write a longer thread about this but just want to quickly throw this post here out - which is probably trivial for aerosol scientists ( @ukhadds.bsky.social ) but still an important aspect when it comes to Ventilation: Ventilation has a stronger effect on slower decaying Viruses.
A Linechart showing the Equilibrium Amount of viable infectious particles for 2 theoretical viruses depending on different Ventilation Rates from 0 to 100 l/s in a 100m³ room. Virus A emits 1000 particles per second and has a half-life of 30 minutes. Virus B emits 2000 particles a second and has a half-life of 10 minutes. At low Ventilation rates Virus A has a higher Equlibrium particle count, at high ventilation, Virus B has a higher one. The Title and Subtitle of the chart is: Changes in Ventilation makes a bigger difference the slower a Virus decays (Important: to demonstrate the general effect the decay rate here is assumed to be constant but the decay rate itself can be effected by ventilation because of changing CO2-Levels , Humidity etc - this varies between Viruses and exact conditions) [Values shown based on a simple Wells-Riley-Model-Implementation]

Sehr positiv, dass die @bundesaerztekammer.de statt zu fordern Leistungen zu kürzen - was bestenfalls Mangelverwaltung ohne Besserung der Gesundheitlichen Situation ist (oft vermutlich sogar verschlechtert) - präventive Maßnahmen stärken will, leider wird Innenraumluftqualität nicht erwähnt.

Zum Klimaentscheid in Hamburg geht gerade viel durcheinander - da wurde mitnichten das Klimaziel um 5 Jahre vorgezogen, es wurde für 2040 nur energiebedingte CO2-Neutralität, aber nicht Treibhausgasneutralität beschlossen - das sind rund 5% Unterschied. Und Internationale Schifffahrt ist außen vor.

One of the multiple goals of indoorco2map.com is to gather data about the current state of ventilation to estimate what's needed additionally (energy and costs) to achieve good ventilation in every indoor space (excluding residential areas). This thread will give a very rough estimate for Germany.

I spent some time categorising the supermarkets measured in the indoorco2map.com project into 3 categories: typical supermarket buildings, shopping malls and other buildings with entrance from the street (e.g. ground floor of a residential building). As expected the malls have the lowest levels.
A boxplot chart showing data for 2 different german supermarket chain. the median value of supermarkets in malls is always lower (around 200-300 ppm in most cases) than in typical standalone supermarket buildings
