This is probably unrelated but...

Hegseth to top military brass: "Likewise, it's completely unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon and leading commands around the country and the world."
To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.
Textbook war crime/extrajudicial killing

"Two survivors were clinging to the smoldering wreck. The Special Operations commander overseeing the Sept. 2 attack ... ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions."

I took a look into this. I'm not an expert, but the order seems to be correct. I think Hegseth is a drunk troll.

Top row (left to right from the viewers perspective):

1. Defense Superior service
2. Legion of merit
3. Distinguished flying cross
4. Air medal
5. Navy commendation
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is seeking to humiliate an American hero.

Senator Kelly flew 39 combat missions during the Gulf War in 1991 and flew four space shuttle missions (commanding two of them).

A Trump supporter started murdering his way through an assassination list of Democratic law makers FIVE MONTHS AGO. He murdered my colleague Melissa Hortman, and her husband Mark — and attempted to assassinate my dear friend John Hoffman and his wife Yvette. I was also on the hit list. WTF

Seriously, fuck data centers. No one wants these built in their backyard.
Data-centers make Page One in Washington State.

“.. they cost millions if not billions to build, consume vast amounts of water and power, and generally do not employ significant numbers of people beyond the construction phase ..”

This is gross
The Athletic polled hundreds of players from across the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL about their opinions surrounding how sports betting impacts players — the responses were haunting.

I keep seeing this article being cited as evidence of something its author is saying doesn't exist at least not in any meaningful way. Read the whole thing.

Do Manafort next
If you had August 15 for the day when Former President Donald Trump would "pull a Steinbrenner" and replace his campaign manager, you win. I don't care if Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles continue to draw paychecks. Now that they report to Lewandowski, they've gotten the "Billy Martin treatment".

Been bugging me so I looked it up: JD Vance is the first major-party presidential ticket candidate with a beard in over a century, since Charles Evans Hughes (GOP prez nominee in 1916). Has this been noted elsewhere; my research is Wikipedia photos …
