Like most migrants my previous home became too caustic and dangerous for my safety.
A week ago the sheriff came early one morning to ask if we had some “black and white thick goats.” “We have no goats,” I replied. He asked if I was sure? Um yeah, I’m totally sure. We have fat horses, chickens and turkeys. No goats.

Trying to shave this fatso is like trying to shave a 1/2 filled ball. I never do a good job, but he’s still cute AF to me. We trimmed him because he has IBD, and it’s easier to deal with his loose poo this way. The other long hair has constant constipation if we leave her hair long. Yay sweaters!

The weather is turning, so I brought my citrus trees in the house for the winter. Wisconsin weather ensures they are potted. The cats were acting weird, and I assumed it was the advent of dirt they like to dig in. Then the youngest brought me a mouse. He went back to the lemon tree to watch.

I’ve canned all the things I need with tomatoes; sauce, paste, salsa, garlic basil, curry, tikka masala soups, enchilada sauce, pizza sauce, diced, juice and rotel. Now I’m scanning the internet for ideas and coming up empty. I’m not big on stewed, or plain sauce as we never use them. Ideas?

Decided to try my hand at French cut green beans. Normally I just snap em, but I seem to be a bit bored with the same ole stuff. I’m drying tomatoes today, and decided to throw some different seasonings on them for a change up. If we don’t like them it’s chicken food over the winter.

I found a jar of chicken vindaloo I had forgotten about. Cooked some rice and added some coconut milk to the warming vindaloo. The smell woke my son. My pantry of canned goods is extensive by the time the canning season ends, so sometimes I forget what I squirreled away. It’s like finding money. 💰
