While I was stress testing and playing around with procedural geometry in Godot, I found out you actually lose performance by calling floori() in gdscript.

And since discarding the decimal point is exactly what I want, I guess I'll just divide it normally then.

TIL that if you put something into the ResourceName field in #godot editor it actually changes it to that text, that way you're not staring at the same "ClassName" text and having to guess what it is 🤯

Have you wondered how to do a monitor layout / selection screen in #godot - look no further!

Monitor Layout UI
Users can have multiple monitors. Here is a custom UI node to display their layout.

Godot quick tip. You can have custom icons for your nodes / global classes. Just add [GlobalClass, Icon("res://path.svg")] to your calss declaration.
For GDScript the syntax is @icon("res://path.svg") with class_name.

Wow, I apparently cleared 10,000 followers!

You've all made a terrible mistake and are going to spend too much on obscure games!

I am terribly sorry, but relieved to see others suffering from my curse.

I also have a Steam curator page, and accept tips (which helps me find games). Details below:

You folks think we'll ever see another classic Im-Sim AAA game again? Or do you think it's only mid-size indies and smaller (in terms of budget) in that genre from now on? I just can't see someone funding another game like Deus Ex:HR/MD or Prey(2017) again...

The way they carefully considered what the baby would look at/react to given the fact that pikmin are invisible (according to the phone game) is actually really neat. Very cool detail that would be easy to miss if the invisible version of the video didn't exist.

After playing Silksong through the weekend I'm feeling kinda conflicted. The core of the game is great and on a technical level it's 100% quality with an astounding vision. But it feels so much harsher and meaner than the other "hardcore" games (Hollow Knight, Dark Souls, Cuphead) I've beaten.

If I could change 1 thing about Silksong, I wish that contact damage only dealt 1 mask, and that attacks could deal 2. It's been kinda frustrating losing nearly half my health because this boss that can fly moved towards my direction after I pogo'd off of it. I gave up on an optional boss till later

I'm looking forward to getting my first health upgrade in #Silksong so that I can survive three hits of damage instead of just... three?

7 YEARS OF DEVELOPMENT HEAVEN TO BEAT YOU WHILE UR DOWN

Silksong is fun but it's also soooooo exhausting for me.
Doesn't help I'm doing this endurance test of a game while I have covid.

Haven't played a game this hard ever...

Here's a fun little trick we used for Circuit Breaker.

All of the assets were made in greyscale, and the final palette was applied using #Godot adjustments settings in an Environment Node.

This made tweaking the final palette, introducing new colours and shading certain elements SUPER quick.

Newest level in Stunted Gravity Circuit! A Time Trial event where gravity flips at the completion of each lap. I decided to really lean into the vaporwave/retrowave aesthetic for this one.

The Boost Pads and Laser Cannons are newly added for this level.

I'm actually going to seriously start learning Godot, it's a game engine. Going to start with trying to make Pong, if I can make fucking Pong I can make any other game.

Chasing my dream of being a game dev has been on the backburner for too long because of personal issues
