On a positive note I have more faith in the people in this app than any other platform. Bluesky is the last social app I have an account with.

I'm going through my own battles after the election cycle and controlling who has the privilege to inject opinions into my day has a huge positive impact.
Perhaps the Bluesky newness is wearing off. Perhaps folks jadedness got locked in on Jan. 20. But fuck, I locked into this platform after following so many positive people and now my feed is full of endless negativity. I'll be resetting my follow list soon.

What is my family's fascination with needing me to experience their terrible food?

"This is disgusting. Try it!" 😶

remarkable to me that far from seeming cool or masculine zuck seems like an even bigger loser — the kind of nerd who preemptively gives his lunch money to the bully and thanks him for the opportunity

Other than Bluesky, where do you get reliable news?
This is grotesque. Should dominate headlines. Won't.
Findings from the Senate Judiciary Committee's probe into the Supreme Court's 'ethical crisis':

• Scalia accepted lavish gifts from billionaires and others with business before the Court for over a decade, in violation of federal law, including 258 personal trips, dozens of which weren't disclosed.

This. Think about what it would cost to influence literally anyone in power, anywhere in the world. Now consider: 20¢ is to $100,000 net worth what $1 million is to Elon Musk.
I really don't think anyone understands just how bad it is that the world's wealthiest man, who bankrolled the incoming president, is an open neo nazi supporter.

He's capable of inflicting so much damage with no means of holding him accountable.

Can we accept there are a few core concerns for progressives? Live without fear of gun violence; All races, genders, identities should have an equal seat at the table; education.

If so, #notnews applies to every trending topic at the moment—drones, shot CEOs with more coverage than shot children...

AOC loses committee vote to 74-year-old Connolly.

Do you seen it now? House Democrats like things the way they are. As actions speak loudest, if Democrats were muted they would appear quite conservative.

What are the next steps as progressives to make America a safe home for friends and family?
WE ARE STILL IN THIS.
Wipe your tears.
This is the difficult business of hope and defying expectation.
We do not give up.
We run through the tape.

Y’all aren’t allowed to throw in the towel until I do. 😉

Big breath. Locked in. Let’s do this.

As we head into January, I encourage everyone to read this.
Read this
WOW. Third Circuit nominee Adeel Mangi's letter to Biden (but, really, to all) is today's required reading: "I have battled for justice, even if it meant there would be none for me."

And, though unnamed, Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto, Jacky Rosen, and Joe Manchin get their earned response.

On this date in 1941, Pearl Harbor was attacked by the imperial forces of Japan. The loss of life and destruction was horrific, and it pulled the U.S. into the war.

For Japanese Americans, it was a terrifying time. Overnight, we became the “enemy within” because we were of Japanese descent. /1

You may not understand why, but the healthcare insurance and PBM contracts YOU have signed for Tesla, SpaceX , @X, along with CEOs of other big companies , have more impact on healthcare costs and quality of care in this country, than anything you can do with DOGE

🔴Is it embarrassing that widgets and screen management were just introduced? Yup.

🥇 However, it’s fucking great to have external devices working with zero effort

@bsky.app, my friend, first—I love you. If nothing else changed about this service, I'd continue to love you . ♥️

So, with love—this is as good as spam 😀.

@bsky.app #featurerequest Lots of folks are adding users and brands to lists instead of following them directly. That's super useful for various reasons. To support clarity around the popularity of a user or brand, it may be useful to include the # of lists they have been added to.

Following me for a follow-back is an act done in vain. If you are here to build an audience, assume I’m not interested and will not follow.

I look forward to connecting with the nobodies who are okay with being nobodies.

@bsky.app let’s consider the following feature 🙏 👉 I would love to be able to exclude the words Trump and Musk from my feeds.

Genuine question—would a healthy American economy and increased economic equality solve this or are there more underlying issues we need to address as a country?
Oh look! It’s a gallery of things I must now order online because it takes 20 minutes to find the Keeper of the Deodorant Key
I get the need to safeguard from shoplifting but this CVS setup is insane.

Time to give @bluesky props. As I write this, there are 560 quotes and replies to the post below.

Of those only 4 call me names and give me shit. About 15 do the same towards Trump.

The remaining 541 are on topic and add value.

👏👏👏👏👏
It’s a battle of political leverage. Who can use tariffs, retaliatory tariffs or sanctions to create more political pain for the other leader. Forcing them to capitulate or face undesired consequences.

How crazy would it be if China, Mexico and/or Canada initiated tariffs before Trump took office
From your standpoint as a businessman and manufacturer, is there any sense behind this? Especially now that other countries are threatening tariffs of their own in retaliation. But that doesn't make sense cause it would mean raising their own taxes.

I'm saddened that we have elected a president that inspires our brothers and sisters in Canada to feel the need to come together as "Team Canada" in response to threats from the US.
