It's raining in Tuliyollal. Curled up together on a recliner in the Forard Cabins, Erenville and Irein sit watching the dreary weather. They're dressed in comfortable pajamas, the camera facing their backs. Erenville: ...Mmm, Reen? Irein: Yes? The camera turns around, closer. Irein has her knees drawn up while Erenville rests in the crook of her shoulder. He loops one arm under Irein's, seeking comfort in her being close. Erenville: We...We never spoke much of your father in the past, did we? Irein: No...w-we d-d-didn't. Erenville: I never wished to press the matter. You already had a fraught relationship with your mother...I had merely assumed the same of him. The camera cuts closer, Irein's face in profile and eyes hidden. She still smiles at Erenville, who can't meet her hidden gaze. Irein: I was e-eleven. He'd b-b-been gone for th-three years. 'F-Fraught' isn't that far off, I th-think. Erenville: Even so...I can't help but feel badly that the first time I ask is only after... Irein: I kn-know. Ask an-anyway.
