this is as good as turning the Constitution off. If this is what congressional leaders are going to do when an executive just seizes power from the legislative branch, we do not have one.

The power to declare war resides solely with Congress. Donald Trump’s unilateral decision to attack Iran is unauthorized and unconstitutional.

In doing so, the President has exposed our military and diplomatic personnel in the region to the risk of further escalation. 1/2

And just like that, the ‘No New Wars’ people are all-in on a new war. Proving yet again that they really believe in nothing other than what one man tells them to believe today. Which could be different tomorrow. The very definition of a cult.

Really remarkable how despite all the claims that Trump has changed the GOP, when they govern it’s still tax cuts for the rich, gutting the safety net for others, blowing up the deficit, and launching new wars in the Middle East.

Only difference is Trump dials up the hate, corruption, and theater.

I was thinking that maybe, more than 20 years after the start of the Iraq war, media coverage would be more skeptical and less sycophantic

No such luck

I just want to say for the record that when the history books are written centuries from now, I believe the election of Donald Trump in a free and fair election in 2024 will go down as one of the most senseless and self-destructive own goals in human history

AFAIK this is the first public statement from Trump that's consistent with how tariffs actually work.

Tariffs are charged on the importer of course, but the exporter can "eat" some of the cost by lowering their own price. (They won't.)

Happy we're all trapped on this learning journey with Donald.
