The best way of describing someone who’s all talk and no action that I’ve ever heard in the UK, by far, is “they’re all wardrobe and no Narnia.”

Work on Arctic security continues.

We'll step up investments in Greenland and Arctic-ready equipment.

And deepen security cooperation with partners in the region ↓

Swedish public radio has received confirmation from the Swedish military that the 'exercise' in Greenland was indeed an operation intended to deter the USA.
Danish soldiers are issued with live ammunition and since last week a 'meaningful' number have been deployed.

US courts have cleared offshore wind projects to continue, pushing back against efforts to halt them on national security grounds.

A reminder of how politicising energy infrastructure creates costly and unnecessary uncertainty when power demand is rising fast.

Good news! The OSCE Democracy Office suggests sending a full election observation mission to Hungary, with 200 observers on election day. Highly necessary, considering the charged situation and persistent fairness issues. @europarl.europa.eu should send a mission too!

Trump on NATO: "I've always said, will they be there if we ever needed them? That's really the ultimate test. I'm not sure of that. We've never needed them. They'll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan and this or that. And they did. They stayed a little back, off the front lines."

- threat of EU action (Pressure strategy)
- successful Rutte & Co diplomacy (Daddy strategy)
- Markets & internal pushback (Work with Congress & markets strategy)

Nope. Yesterday the EU in effect said China must agree to voluntarily hobble its own economy otherwise the WTO is dead.

We are entering very dangerous territory indeed. So what is happening?
