The mass astroturfing of Charlie Kirk has legitimately broken me in a new way. There are no consequences for lying anymore and we can’t expect this trajectory to bring us all nothing but suffering and destruction.
He’s not a hero. It’s very bad for all of us to treat him like a Civil Rights Leader. He was a tragic victim of his own destructive ideology.

It's one thing to lament loss of life and decry political violence, but this revisionism is shockingly dishonest and downright offensive to the millions of people Kirk targeted and upon whom he inflicted pain and misery. The man was a liar and a bigot who gladly hurt others to advance himself.
The best way to honor Charlie's memory is to continue his work: engage with each other, across ideology, through spirited discourse. In a democracy, ideas are tested through words and good-faith debate — never through violence.
