That's the way
I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.

A vote for this bill is a mistake.

With the Trump admin opposing using emergency SNAP funds, it’s important to remember the econ benefits of SNAP.

A 2019 USDA study found a 1.5 multiplier effect. This means that $1 billion in SNAP leads to $1.5b in GDP and 13k+ jobs.

Higher education in the US has never been "controlled by the left."

This piece about the University of Chicago and the broader reality and trends it reflects is a great example of that fact and its implications.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 95th day out of the last 107.

12 days of work in 107 days.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

Prices on Amazon, Walmart and Target have all increased this year as retailers grapple with higher costs due to tariffs.

Because third-party sellers are more vulnerable to tariffs, marketplace vendors often have no choice but to pass higher costs onto the shopper.

This shit is so crazy and so obviously our biggest problem underlying everything and anyone who says otherwise is either greedy or blind

We said what we said
The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion.

The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion.

Read that back.

When 400 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

Exactly. It wasn't even hard ro destroy. Just build a completely values free alternative "public" in the Internet and elevate some fascist entertainment clowns with engagement farming and money. And everything came apart.
In a way, I find the authoritarian takeover of our media system even more disturbing than the authoritarian takeover of our political system.

Our political system has been failing basically my entire adult life. But, the media system provided accountability and sort of worked. Now it’s collapsing.

You can give people all of the data, context, and facts about the benefits system…

And they still think that their opinion, fake anecdotes, and emotional reactions are a suitable debating point against that.

It’s a huge reason society is so fucked up at the moment. I hate it.
