So the Premier League and Man City have settled the APT case. And as is the usual these days, there is absolutely no transprency around the terms of the settlement which allows speculation to grow. None of this is good for the league.

Thank you to the Bournemouth supporters who were at Anfield today. A perfectly observed minute of silence before the game for Diogo and André, and I didn’t hear a single instance of poverty chanting (I stand to be corrected if anyone inside heard otherwise of course).

Supply and demand side phenomenon. We stopped investing public resources in education as demand for it soared (roughly by an order of magnitude, maybe two). It’s the same phenomenon as decaying infrastructure or housing.
Like forget the Ivies or even the elite publics. Even Florida State’s acceptance rate has plunged from the 60’s down into the low 20’s. It’s like universities don’t feel good about themselves unless families are miserable and anxious trying to get in:
