I am an University of Wyoming MA student writing about 18th century women and missionary religion in the Atlantic World. I love books, knitting, cooking fancy things, rpgs, board games, Sci-fi /fantasy, and (of course) museums, libraries, and archives.
I am four years late to the party, but the solar punk novella, "A Psalm for the Wild-Built" by Becky Chambers is really good.

On the morning of Halloween, two instructors came across a grouping of pumpkins displayed near the student union. They were carved with Nazi words and symbols, including a swastika.

I really love being on a university campus in the late summer and how the energy slowly builds towards the beginning of the academic year. It feels hopeful and exciting, and it's just the best.

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo. "So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

I am really frustrated that the press is discussing the destruction of USAID as something that has happened rather than an illegal action that will likely be undone in two weeks when courts tell the world that it was illegal.
