🚨New publication alert!
We just published a brief on what happens to parenting students' chances of success in college when they are threatened with eviction. The results are devastating. I have never cried when writing up research before. I did this time.

And this is why the Trump admin went after the BBC.
Nowhere in the hysterical pile-on against the BBC in the British press has anyone mentioned that BBC News now has 77 million viewers & listeners in the US and has established itself as the second most trusted news source there.

How Will New Student Loan Caps Impact Graduate Students?
The Trump administration will limit graduate student borrowing, even in many high demand medical fields. How will that impact enrollment in those programs?

The hunger will continue until morale improves
NEW: The Trump admin told states it must immediately "undo" the work to provide full food stamp benefits, or face penalties. The feds sent this in a late-night memo, only adding to the chaos and confusion around SNAP. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/09/b...

A friend recently texted me the same thing. “Do you really not use ChatGPT?!” It was a sign of where we are culturally on this. People are compelled to use it but also starting to question the normalcy?
Recently met someone who was very surprised to hear I didn’t use ChatGPT or any LLM.
I said my job depended on doing distinctive work. That was my selling point. If I started to sound like ChatGPT and turn out what it did, then how on earth could I justify doing it? What would that make me?

This is a spectacularly good speech.
The full transcript of Zohran Mamdani's acceptance speech is very much worth reading in full. Even if you don't agree with your politics, it's very beautifully put together.

I'll be watching how college presidents and boards move. Some people may push even harder on privates because they didn't get their electoral wishes but I could certainly see some presidents more publicly aligning with the anti-authoritarian faction.
Is there any chance today's electoral results in US prompt a course change among the various elites who'd memed themselves into thinking Trumpism was the will of the people and the wave of the future etc?

The fact that Democrats won both elections yesterday for the Georgia Public Service Commission is remarkable enough (no Democrat had won a non-federal statewide race in GA since 2006).
But both won by a margin of 63% to 37%. In Georgia.
