Hey they’ll sort out the housing crisis tho!
Fianna Fáil is bracing itself for a delay in delivering its internal review into its approach to the presidential election.

It was set out last month that the party would carry out a review into its chaotic presidential campaign following the shock departure of candidate Jim Gavin

Such a heartbreaking story, felt by so many others around the country. Makes me so angry that the Taoiseach can just say that the HSE isn’t in a position to fulfil the law rtn with regards assessments for children with special needs. As if he isn’t ultimately responsible for that.

"you cannot measure the soul of a nation in capital flows. It breathes in the child warmed by a public health nurse, the pensioner safe on a winter night, the worker who does not fear tomorrow. Not in airports and equity markets.”

"When history judges us, it won’t ask how “agile” we were.

It will ask who we housed, who we fed, who we sheltered, who we lifted up when the lift got stuck.

That’s the only kind of fast that matters."

Over half of farms in West Cork fail pollution inspections. Clearly the fear of losing the nitrates derogation is not sufficient motivation to change behaviour.

The fundamental thing with the presidential nomination process is that if there was a true groundswell of support for a particular kind of candidate, there would already be enough of that kind of TD elected to nominate them

The one conclusion they will assiduously avoid, of course, is that Catherine Connolly just won this election because a majority of voters want her to be the president, and that they want her to be the president because of her politics.
