Something they don't tell you about late-stage capitalism is that over time its attacks on the economy itself become progressively more and more devastating.

The murder-suicide of the free market is something that is probably not sufficiently discussed in most economics courses.
Love that AI, a thing we hate and don’t want, steals everything, ruins everything, shittifies everything. Drinks our water, plagiarizes our art, pisses all over our information fidelity, drives kids to suicide, serves the right-wing, and fucks up our devices and services. Good job, techbros!

For Caturday, two more black-and-white cats from the cat colony by the Ponte del Risorgimento in Rome. Smol kitten is apprehensive about the camera-toting stranger, big cat is unimpressed.

A BlueSky challenge to "drop some horse" had me searching my photo archives for pictures tagged 'horse'.

The first one I found was a detail of a Chandela frieze from a temple in Khajuraho that would probably have got me permanently banned if I'd posted it.

I went with a Botero sculpture instead.

There's speculation that the proposed flight ban in El Paso may have been linked to operations run from Fort Bliss against cartel drones, which might have endangered civilian aircraft.

Put another way, POTUS called for an XPD of the CDS but the AAF CO at FBTX did a CYA, so the FAA issued a NOTAM.

This is it. The wendigo was a story told as a warning against the unchecked greed that turns men into monsters & destroys them & everyone around them.

But our modern wendigos have publicists & a media eager to tell us that being a wendigo is the best thing possible. That wasn't in the stories.
Billionaires can't be happy with their money because it is impossible to become a billionaire without being a gaping sucking void of desperate ravenous mindless hunger.

The only way to become a billionaire is by transforming yourself into a wendigo.

What’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: "The Siege and Investiture of Baron von Frankenstein's Castle at Weisseria" -- Blue Oyster Cult

Alternate: "Thankfully, Not Living In Yorkshire It Doesn't Apply" -- Dexy's Midnight Runners
Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

I'm not a fan of John Lydon, but I still laughed at the story of angry police swarming the boat he was on after the Sex Pistols' infamous river cruise, truncheons in hand, shouting "Which one's Johnny Rotten?"

Lydon just pointed at Richard Branson & said "He is", then fled the scene.
Disgusting.

In an email on Sept. 11, 2013, Mr. Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group, wrote to Mr. Epstein, “It was really nice seeing you yesterday.” He added: “Any time you’re in the area would love to see you. As long as you bring your harem!”

For Caturday, this finely-whiskered individual is a member of a cat colony living by the Ponte del Risorgimento on the Tiber in Rome.

Under Italian Law 281 (1991), cat colonies are legal entities with specific rights, such as the right to live in their chosen location and to be protected from harm.
