If the gold machine randomly produced fake gold a quarter of the time and the cost to verify that the resulting metal was in fact gold was cost-prohibitive, then yeah. Dead on.
I mean it’s straightforwardly miraculous, and people are telling me it’s a parlor trick. if your parlor trick involves transmuting actual iron into actual gold, I think we can probably stop calling it a trick

This place has completely lost whatever juice it gained after the inauguration. Zero sports news or analysis. Political discourse has been overrun by a very small, vocal minority of leftists. Almost every poster is anonymous. Everyone is constantly crying about the end of the world. Done with this.
June 19, 2025 at 5:51 AM
Smart people still believe this guy isn’t a cognitively decimated train wreck because the media refuses to cover stuff like this with any urgency.
Trump just reposted on TruthSocial that Joe Biden was executed in 2020 and was replaced by "clones, doubles, and robotic engineered soulless mindless entities."
June 1, 2025 at 4:10 AM
This website has a real problem with anonymous, hateful trolls. There’s serious anti-social behavior on display in the replies under every post about Biden’s cancer, always reinforced by hundreds of likes. As @whstancil.bsky.social has said repeatedly, BlueSky’s moderation must rise to the occasion.
May 19, 2025 at 7:19 PM
Dems’ inability to make headlines of this clear-cut operational ineptitude repeatedly handed to them on a silver platter is truly pathetic.
May 11, 2025 at 1:29 AM
When people complain (unfairly) of BlueSky being a left-wing echo chamber, this is what they’re complaining about. Leftists rarely get properly dunked on over here. Any group of remotely reasonable left-leaning people would stuff anyone who said this out loud in a locker and go have a beer.

While her confirmation would certainly be Bad News, this nomination is a damning indictment of MAGA’s intellectual bankruptcy. Their bench is empty, and this is the best they’ve got!
May 8, 2025 at 8:44 PM
Even “He Gets Us, LLC” commercials now condemn “GO BACK” graffiti and endorse Pride parades. Trump will not win!

It’s perfectly possible that large language models have wonderful use cases, but specific examples of them seem unusually elusive, whereas unbuttressed assertions that the use cases are clear or obvious from people who refuse to answer any follow up questions are rather thick on the ground.
people are getting mad at Hank about this but he’s just objectively correct here; there’s this pseudo-Luddite thing going on where folks insist that LLMs do not have any use cases despite that clearly not being true, particularly with how cheap they are to operate (you can run deepseek on a raspi)
There are a lot of critiques of LLMs that I agree with but "they suck and aren't useful" doesn't really hold water.

I understand people not using them because of social, economic, and environmental concerns. And I also understand people using them because they can be very useful.

Thoughts?

Choosing to take this as a sign that he's headed home until the evidence points otherwise.
NEW: Judge Xinis stays discovery in the Kilmar Abrego Garcia case until April 30, 2025.

She says she's staying discovery "with the agreement of the parties."

Otherwise, the basis for the stay remains unclear because the underlying motions are under seal.

And just like that we have a new member of the top 10 Dem 2028 candidates
I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.

Credit to the Fourth Circuit for doing all it can to preclude any attempt by the media trying to avoid calling the Abrego Garcia case an obvious constitutional crisis.
"The Executive may succeed for a time in weakening the courts, but over time history will script the tragic gap between what was and all that might have been, and law in time will sign its epitaph."

It may seem stupid now given their expansive portfolio of failure but I truly believe history will mark the actual time of death of contemporary Dem leadership at the moment they conspired to ice this obvious generational political talent out of a leadership position on the Oversight Committee.
AOC: Some of the Republicans whose districts we visited just warned their leadership that they’re not sure they can vote for Medicaid cuts now.

We’ve got them on their back foot. But our job is not done.

We will rally every corner of the U.S.

We will not stop until they actually vote no.

This is still a coup. It's lasted months. It will likely have corroded every corner of the state's digital infrastructure by the time everything is said and done. The reconstruction of the government once these fascists are kicked to the curb will be a colossal undertaking of a post-war magnitude.
New from me: DOGE just put the entire staff on leave at the federal agency that coordinates US homelessness response.

The agency's new leader is the same DOGE software engineer who now serves as the director of the US Institute for Peace: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
DOGE Places Entire Staff of Federal Homelessness Agency on Leave
The US Interagency Council on Homelessness, which helps coordinate federal housing aid to cities, was targeted for elimination by a Trump executive order in March.

And Judge Boasberg calls it "retweeting," not "reposting." A legend through and through.
Huge news. Judge Boasberg has found probable cause to hold the Trump admin in contempt of court for their refusal to not turn around the extrajudicial deportation flight.

They can either: 1) fix it, and ensure all migrants receive due process or 2) face contempt proceedings.

This man is an embarrassment to the office. We need young blood in his seat.
History will remember April 9, 2025 as America’s actual liberation day—the day that President Trump backed down from his ridiculous tariff fiasco.

As of February 26, 2025, ChatGPT was still insisting that Claudine Gay was still the President of Harvard, even when the prompt asked why she had been removed. This stuff is for suckers.

Pathetic lack of critical thinking on display here. Not a single specific instance of cost-effective use case for AI at global scale. “It’s already here!” For sure, until the VC market tires of subsidizing billions in annual losses! NFTs were here too until they weren’t!
I typically try to be a little more poised… that was not the mood today. We went with it anyway 😬

This is one of the few times where I believe your opinion, my opinion, anyone’s opinion TRULY DOESN’T MATTER.

Bone-chillingly horrifying. Absolute fascism. Her lawyer has no idea where she is.
Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

I feel so sick. Enough with the lies, enough with the games. They know exactly what they're doing.

This is a neo-Nazi movement. Proudly so. The only reason they've kept it coded up until now was to take advantage of those who didn't want to believe it.

No more looking away. Face up to what it is.
