This is one of those books I don’t want to end. I want the 6-episode documentary version, the podcast remake, the limited edition cassette with 151 extra tracks. It’s a flawless tribute to Richey’s epigram (‘music and words came first’). Bravo @keithcameron2.bsky.social 🙂 #manicstreetpreachers

Finally, one of the weirdest music TV clips - as discussed in our episode with @simonprice.bsky.social - has resurfaced.
Gary Numan on Jim'll Fix doing Music For Chameleons while a haunted child circled him slowly in an electric car with torches for headlights.

The Beatles’ Let It Be film is back and as depressing as ever — even if this time it’s for different reasons
It's here at last: Let It Be the motion picture, dead duck of the canon, unavailable for more than half a century, to no one's great dismay. On its original release, this dim and rickety film, which n...

I love music, but I hate dancing. It's so embarrassing. There's always so much pressure to dance at social occasions. I've tried to dance like no one is watching, feel the rain on my skin etc but I can't, I hate it and I hope I never have to do it again.

This is a *very* good thread. Clarifies some really tricky issues. Not least why some English politicians insist that they cannot actually be English.
I think liberals in the West need to understand that they have not stumbled across any kind of contradiction or hypocrisy in the Global far right. When they said “people have a right to free speech” they simply never saw racialised people as people to begin with 🧵
People in the USA & beyond are being punished, fired, defunded, deported, disciplined & silenced by Trump’s administration for their opinions & beliefs. In unprecedented numbers. I thought the ‘anti-woke’ warriors really hated this stuff? They all seem to have disappeared…

@willmac23.bsky.social Broken Veil is brilliant. I’ve only heard the first episode so far but I think you’ll find it’s Blue Jam meets The Parapod. And it made me want to go on a fan visit to a roundabout.

This is a brilliantly written, presented and produced podcast that intersects with the current terrors over data as power, the end of privacy, AI, manosphere… Depressing but utterly essential. Brilliant work from @carolecadwalla.bsky.social

The #LibGen thing is grim (all my books are in there) but it only doubles my determination to keep writing. Creativity as an act of resistance.
We are disappointed but not surprised that Meta has used millions of pirated books to develop its AI systems.

As a matter of urgency, Meta needs to compensate the rightsholders of all the works it has been exploiting.

But what can authors do? Read here:
