Sure clothing is a choice, but we broadly agree the clothing is not a reason to be sexually assaulted.

With Will Stancil he likes to pick internet fights with people. I'm good with him being pugilistic, but it's going to produce a certain cause and effect, and sometimes it's over the price of milk.

It's not helpful to go ACAB, then spend a long diatribe that just ends up with you proposing leftist police with a new name.
February 13, 2026 at 12:30 AM
Minneapolis police haven't been doing that during this ICE occupation, they also haven't been defending their citizens from ICE's assaults.

I don't call them neutral like its good, they're supposed to "serve and protect".

I point out that the cops paid primarily by rural taxes are helping ICE.
February 13, 2026 at 12:30 AM
This is the factual situation.

Minneapolis police neither help nor fight ICE.

Sheriffs and state troopers help and have helped ICE.

It's a meaningful distinction. This distinction exists in other places where the rural population of the county votes for very conservative sheriffs, and those cops are even less involved members of the larger region they police.

MPD sucks but they've largely been neutral over ICE.

“No,” her husband said.

I never quite could retcon that if Jeffrey Epstein was murdered why wasn't Ghislaine Maxwell or disappeared? She was arrested about a year after Epstein died. Plenty of opportunity with her on the outside. I would imagine one assumes about the same difficulty to assassinate a person prison?

Oh absolutely it's about ethnicity and race, but Israelis are often darker skinned than Palestinians. I guess ICE would figure it out based on where the walls and fences and mass death is, but Middle East prejudices are not as colorist as American racism is.

I agree with this, then I see him in the middle of the Siege of Minneapolis, posting to those same mentally ill people:

"What was the price of milk down to a cent one year ago, hmm?"

It's utterly unnecessary counterproductive antagonization of crazy people.

I hate to reduce the IR problems of the region to oil trade, but almost all that Saudi and UAE oil ships through the Strait of Hormuz. The US predominantly protects the Strait and allies with unsavory actors to keep the oil flowing.

We gotta get off oil as soon as is practically possible.

It's kind of bad how car chases are a spectacle phenomenon.

Almost everyone who looks at the issue seriously comes away believing the vast majority of car chases aren't worth it from a safety/material damages perspective.

Some people just want to drive fast and are looking for a justification.

ICE is still trying to subjugate Minneapolis. It's still failing.

Broad sanctions are at best ineffectual tools for policy change. Targeted sanctions are a little better, but trade is the actual liberating force. The US went from outright enemies with China during the Cold War to non-hostile rivals through massive amounts of trade.

I can't emphasize enough how much of a fighter this guy is. He got sucker punched on camera, internet friends tried to get him to rest for 36 hours and he posted through the whole thing + ICE protests.

He does this with everything. He does this with the cost of milk.

He dared a Trump DOJ attorney to arrest him. He picks fights with Neo-nazis that seem to personally know the vice president. I like that he pick these fights that support what I believe in, but I also acknowledge that he is a fight picker.

This was just one random topic where he pissed people off unnecessarily. I'm good with that part. I really do think he's a pugilist at heart. He's not gonna stop seeking that conflict.

Grant him every victory on BlueSky, and he'll go to twitter to fight nazis who want to murder him.

This wasn't something that needed to be discourse. Will Stancil made it into discourse.

He was factually correct and deeply unhelpful at once.

I think he seeks out conflict, and certainly I like that sometimes (ICE, Elon Musk, etc), but he very very much puts himself in these positions.

In the three or so years I've known about his existence, he's almost always been empirically correct, loudly ineffectual at communicating those facts, and always looking for an argument.

He's always going to get death threats because he can't stop looking for a fight.

bsky.app/profile/andr...
I don't think you OUGHT to receive death threats, that's immoral, I think it's eminently predictable that you will receive death threats, which is a cause and effect thing.

You choose to poke bears all the time. The Kat Abu thing was just one example. Could you have sent a DM? Sure, but you didn't.

I thought Will Stancil's comments were about as antagonistic as someone could be on charity and a campaign.

I've largely disliked Kat Abu's campaigning, but I thought it was morally fine and really good of her to take that risk and run a charity in her campaign.
