“He’s my first born,” Susan Pretti said. “He’s the one that made me a mother. There was no reason he should have died that day.”

“No,” her husband said.

I never quite could retcon that if Jeffrey Epstein was murdered why wasn't Ghislaine Maxwell or disappeared? She was arrested about a year after Epstein died. Plenty of opportunity with her on the outside. I would imagine one assumes about the same difficulty to assassinate a person prison?

This was just one random topic where he pissed people off unnecessarily. I'm good with that part. I really do think he's a pugilist at heart. He's not gonna stop seeking that conflict.

Grant him every victory on BlueSky, and he'll go to twitter to fight nazis who want to murder him.
This wasn't something that needed to be discourse. Will Stancil made it into discourse.

He was factually correct and deeply unhelpful at once.

I think he seeks out conflict, and certainly I like that sometimes (ICE, Elon Musk, etc), but he very very much puts himself in these positions.

The golden rice situation makes me *SO* sad.

It's estimated a THIRD of people worldwide are Vitamin A deficient, which can cause permanent damage to the eyes — in many cases full-on blindness.

We created a perfect solution to this problem, but oh no, it's "unnatural"
Same anti-science people who'd rather see people starve, than endorse GMOs. Because, hurr durr, Capitalism bad, science bad, therefore, hurr durr, golden rice bad and an unnatural abomination!

Police in Phoenix said they are leaving it to the FBI and ICE to probe the shooting of a man who allegedly fled immigration agents.

once again these things boil down to “is your group a bohemian cultural identity” or “is your group actually trying to do things?” and the key tell is whether your activity centers on policing of in-group behavior or whether it centers on, again, tangible goals

Rather than hiding behind American race rhetoric and broad labels like “Arab” and “Black,” I want to see the same courage applied to naming the UAE leadership that is helping erase Sudan, even as it funds events and institutions in the United States that appropriate Arab American narratives.

A fun Bluesky thing is that people will arrogantly condescend to you about insane opinions that cannot have more than like 200 adherents total as though you are the weirdo for not holding them.

I keep saying this, Kathy Hochul hasn't regretted a single day since endorsing Zohran Mamdani.
I'm endorsing Gov. @KathyHochul because she's someone willing to engage in honest dialogue that delivers results.

Along with the movement that powered our campaign, it's how we secured a historic agreement on childcare. And we're just getting started.

I met Ian outside the Whipple Building in Mpls last week, where he was protesting ICE. I was blown away by his vulnerability, by how deeply he—a 6-time combat vet—feels like his nation is under attack. I just learned that he was among those arrested by federal officials for protesting at the church.
Ian Austin, an Army veteran, was arrested for protesting ICE in Minneapolis. But he’s continued protesting. Senior reporter @julialurie.bsky.social spoke to him.

“When they say, ‘Why would you be out here?’ How the fuck could I not be out here?” he says. “My nation is under attack."
