In trying to woo Le Pen’s voters, Les Républicains risk destroying France’s Gaullist legacy and putting Paris on a collision course with the EU, says Paul Taylor of the European Policy Centre

A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

Cruel. Callous. Cowardly.

The public are seeing this Labour government for exactly who they are.

We all have a responsibility to make them pay at the ballot box.

Reject the hate. Reject them.

This is not who we are. Let's make hope normal again.

Just watched the new #runningman. It's fun but feels a bit empty. Weirdly I felt more emotionally engaged with Arnie romping about however much the new one piles on 'sick babies' 'slandered wife' etc etc.

Can someone explain to #shabanamahmood there's nothing ILLEGAL about applying for asylum. If you don't like the boats put an application centre in France.

Parents - if your young teenage son suddenly for the first time ever wants to wash his own bedsheets, let him. Don't ask him why. Don't worry about him doing it wrong. Just get out of the way and let him.

New hip insult you'll be hearing everywhere soon:
"Was this made by Al?"

Especially effective when mentioned while watching a film (especially a big budget one) or listening to the new release of a song (preferably by a big pop star).

The idea that BBC that has a huge number of senior managers & journalists that are privately educated Oxbridge grads, disproportionately platformed Leave in Brexit, platform Farrage at every opportunity, framed Corbyn as a Russian anti-Semite & banned the word genocide is left wing is laughable

I thought I was done caring about Stranger Things but the new trailer is set to my favorite Queen song from the Highlander soundtrack?

BBC News just referred to the victims of Epstein as "young women". I think the word they're looking for is "girls". 😕

This film is an absolute stinker, getting 1 star reviews, and I LOVED IT! Alan Ritchson is hilarious. #playdate

Oh well. I was looking for a reason to stop watching so much telly. Books it is then.
Jesus, if we were to lose the BBC and ITV’s Media & Entertainment division is bought by Comcast we’ll see the complete Americanisation of UK television. The US obviously makes loads of wonderful television. But I like to think the weird Britishness of stuff we make over here has value too.

Once every 20 years or so, the director-general of the BBC is forced to resign for being insufficiently rightwing. Alastair Milne in 1987. Greg Dyke in 2004. Tim Davie in 2025. The great irony is that the BBC was in all cases profoundly biased towards established power. But just not biased enough …

So let me get this straight: the BBC, which has been massively and obviously biased in favour of Tories and Reform since at least 2015, is apologising and the DG is resigning for… ‘anti Trump and anti Israel bias’??? Make it make sense

So the #bbc takes this opportunity to get a genocide supporting, zionist, Telegraph journalist on to smear BBC Arabic and don't challenge any of his bullshit.

BOOST this, ffs

THIS is the story of where we are now.
Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women and children are separated. Children come home from school and find that their parents are gone.

I would have loved to see the face on the #pluribus production manager when Mr Gilligan said "Yeah, we've got a sequence that starts in North Africa, need a plane and TWO empty airports and to litter motorways and runways with corpses. Not necessary for the story but adds a bit of texture."

For as many years as anyone been counting two or more inmates been mistakenly released from British prisons most weeks. Record does not make it acceptable. System needs to be fixed. It does leave me asking why BBC now gripped by end-of-civilisation hysteria heard on Radio 4 Today programme.
