More of the same middle aged ranting/dad jokes as on the old place, really, but less rising to the political bait. Springsteen, West Ham, Europe-type stuff. 🇪🇺🇮🇪🇧🇦
I see Hooters has gone bust.

For a supposed hoax created by the Democrats, the Epstein Files do seem to be causing tremors across a lot of countries don't they? So how long before the resultant tsunami washes up at the White House door, because those things tend to wipe out everything that is foolish enough to get in the way.

Corbyn's bloc being called The Many seems the most optimistic name since Lithuania's 2006 Eurovision entry We are the winners, which came 6th. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/We_Are_...

Ah yes, of course. The leadership crisis they're *all* talking about.
A source close to Corbyn has warned ‘Your Party’ will not survive unless his supporters win power within it, as voting opens today for members to elect the leadership

That would be like Christmas for the Daily Hate, the coverage would drag the British press to new depths.
EXCL: An website claiming to launch Angela Rayner’s Labour leadership campaign was published temporarily last month, prompting further speculation the former deputy PM is gearing up for contest to replace Keir Starmer.

Revealed: ‘Rayner for leader’ site briefly went live in January
angelaforleader.co.uk domain also registered – but MP’s team dismiss half-finished site as ‘fake’ that was created without her knowledge

In hindsight, somewhat of a double-edged front page.

Not to worry Keir Starmer, but this is the latest picture from the gates of Downing Street.

'Shorter than Sunak'. If that is indeed to be Starmer's political epitaph, as suddenly seems extremely possible ... wow.

Everyone talks about the 'Huw Edwards rumour' joke in a 2005 episode of The Thick of It (a totally innocent throwaway line, apparently), but no-one seems to have noticed this, in this 2014 episode of W1A which is still on iPlayer. 🧐

One of the biggest parts of Trump's legacy will be future scholars scratching their heads at the acres of news coverage given to every comment he ever made on anything. Someone tell the BBC him criticising the Super Bowl half time show because it was in Spanish is NOT NEWS. *Of course* he hated it.

On this date in 1964, some band from Liverpool went on an American chat show, and things were forever quite the same.

I don't get the British fascination with the slow drawn out non spectacle that is American Football (I used to like it until I endured a live game) but I do know who totally deserves to see his team lose.

I look forward to the American media giving such blanket coverage of the Rugby League Challenge Cup final - now that's a proper fun sporting day out, highly recommended, I've been to it 4 times.

Pub trivia gold: Bob Dylan and George Bernard Shaw are the only two people to win an Oscar and a Nobel Prize, but the only person to win an Oscar (best animated short film) & Olympic gold (x2) is... Kobe Bryant.

What better trade ambassador could the country have than a man who has... er... been born into inherited wealth, flown a helicopter, never had any dealings with the world of trade and has bad judgement of biblical proportions?
February 8, 2026 at 6:07 PM
What an irresponsible headline. Police investigate Reform election communications, surely? But no... also, this is a somewhat more newsworthy story than the disappearance of the mother of an American tv presenter no-one here has heard of. But guess which one gets higher billing? Anything for clicks.
