More of the same middle aged ranting/dad jokes as on the old place, really, but less rising to the political bait. Springsteen, West Ham, Europe-type stuff. 🇪🇺🇮🇪🇧🇦
One of the biggest parts of Trump's legacy will be future scholars scratching their heads at the acres of news coverage given to every comment he ever made on anything. Someone tell the BBC him criticising the Super Bowl half time show because it was in Spanish is NOT NEWS. *Of course* he hated it.

On this date in 1964, some band from Liverpool went on an American chat show, and things were forever quite the same.

Peter Rabbit is a very odd choice of Super Bowl half time act.
Or did I read that wrong?

I don't get the British fascination with the slow drawn out non spectacle that is American Football (I used to like it until I endured a live game) but I do know who totally deserves to see his team lose.

Quality journalism at its best, lads. Great attention to detail.

I look forward to the American media giving such blanket coverage of the Rugby League Challenge Cup final - now that's a proper fun sporting day out, highly recommended, I've been to it 4 times.

Pub trivia gold: Bob Dylan and George Bernard Shaw are the only two people to win an Oscar and a Nobel Prize, but the only person to win an Oscar (best animated short film) & Olympic gold (x2) is... Kobe Bryant.

Who’s the super bowl halftime performer?

What better trade ambassador could the country have than a man who has... er... been born into inherited wealth, flown a helicopter, never had any dealings with the world of trade and has bad judgement of biblical proportions?

What an irresponsible headline. Police investigate Reform election communications, surely? But no... also, this is a somewhat more newsworthy story than the disappearance of the mother of an American tv presenter no-one here has heard of. But guess which one gets higher billing? Anything for clicks.

PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS NEED COAL (1975): A fantastic PIF for the National Coal Board selling men on the thrilling, glamorous, and from the looks of it, downright sexy life of a coal miner. Where do I sign up?

I've never skied, but isn't 'functioning legs' up there alongside 'skis' on the non-negotiable equipment list?

It was amazing to be at the final* West End run performance of the Live Aid musical Just for One Day last night, having been at the very first preview. The perfect finale was number two daughter, who absolutely adores the show, getting to talk to/a photo with Bob Geldof afterwards. (*for now)

Funny how Clinton is out in the open talking, while Trump is nowhere to be seen. That contrast says a lot about who might be guilty.

Watching Andrea Bocelli singing Nessum Dorma in the San Siro, it's impossible not to recall Cameroon v Argentina in the craziest World Cup opening game ever on that very pitch in 1990. What a summer to be alive.

'Standout', are they, BBC? As in 'outstanding'? I'm sure the ghost of Lord Reith is nodding approvingly.

Shocked to discover that Trump spreads racist material without thinking (yeah rrrrrright). Next they'll be suggesting his last 12+ years have been entirely fuelled by resentment of Barack Obama's existence, happy marriage to one woman, functional family, charisma, public admiration and Nobel Prize.
