I’m still in shock that Jaxson Dart is actually good. When’s the last time a guy like him, taken in the 20s, turned out good? This would be like if Kenny Pickett was good.

Who’s to say. I’ll be really surprised if future Buzz-Maryland teams don’t have enough shooters. This year’s roster was thrown together in like three weeks. I’m not going to make any sweeping declarations on how he’ll operate the program on this group.
This was his team's MO at A&M, can he not recruit shooters or was it a resource problem there?

I’m loathe to say this, but it’s possible Georgetown just ends up being a great defensive team. There might not be five better they play all season. And doing it in the first game with a brand new roster? Not a great formula.

They’re also not hitting the offensive glass at nearly the level they need to if they can’t hit threes. Long season, but that’ll be the key to if they can win enough to make it an interesting season.
Georgetown with 3 more 3’s basically the difference in the game. Being able to shoot was basically the question with Buzz teams, so gonna stick out till they win some games like this by hitting em

It’s really striking how well Buzz has gotten an entirely new roster to defend so quickly. The talent level is honestly pretty mid but they are tenacious.

It was always going to be. If this team wins, it’s going to largely be disgusting basketball. Learn to love it (for this season, at least).
I’m trying not to overreact to one half especially in the first game against decent competition with a fully new roster, but this season might be a fucking slog lol

Maryland was clearly intentionally not going to Payne as much in the first half as an experiment with this roster. Also, Coppin has 15 points on end of the shot clock heaves that went in. Good opening game.
