Fed Chairman: Economic indicators for next year are generally positive, with manufacturing expected to grow and interest rates remaining stable. However on the down side, there’s a lot of communism.
TRUMP: We can grow at 15 percent. I think more than that!

KUDLOW: Well, 15 is a big number sir

TRUMP: But Larry, you can do it. We used to grow at 15 percent because we had spirit. Today we have a lot of communism

i think this more than anything is what miller wants. vast detention camps with all of the suffering and death that means.
ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.

If these mega-camps are utilized to the full capacity ICE intends, they'll be the largest prisons in the country, with little real oversight. www.ajc.com/politics/202...

There are psychologically broken people. The culture they stew in turns them rotten, and then their control of the state enables them to weaponize that lack of emotional and psychological well-being against the rest of us on a mass scale.

This is true, and even if we get rid of Trump, we still have to reckon with the fact that a substantial proportion of US economic and political elites were *eager* to jump on the fascism train. They will still be the same people when Trump is gone.
The political dynamics of 2025 were shaped by Democrats and Republicans over-reading Trump's victory in the same way. That turns out to be a problem for a LOT of rich and powerful people who made a very large bet on the theory that MAGA had won the culture war. www.offmessage.net/p/trump-has-...

American business is built around margins on cheap labor. It's simply not sustainable otherwise. This is going to cascade catastrophically.
Navarro has repeatedly (and falsely) claimed that "illegals" were taking the jobs of Americans, including in this very interview.
If that's the case, then why is he now warning that job growth will slow amidst mass deportations? Shouldn't this be boom times for native-born workers?

It occurs to me that being a billionaire must be an awful lot like having EVERY conversation with ChatGPT: Everything you say is a pearl of extraordinary insight, until you lose all realistic sense of your own capabilities.
This really is a very good piece. I think quite a lot lies behind it. First that the *actual* education of the likes of Musk etc is very superficial. Just enough Western Civ classes at elite universities for them to persuade themselves that they are talented intellects without any deep study.
One lesson of the Epstein emails is the total intellectual vacuousness of the international business elite
