Remember the controversy when Obama was accused of intervening in UK politics? This is the current US government openly seeking to undermine liberal democracy in Europe.
The US state department is set to fund Maga-aligned think-tanks and charities across Europe to disseminate Washington's policy positions and challenge perceived threats to free speech. Senior state department official Sarah Rogers travelled to Europe in December to meet influential rightwing think-tanks and has spoken to key figures in Nigel Farage's populist Reform UK party about deploying a pot of money to spread American values, according to three people with knowledge of the matter. The funding was linked to the 250th anniversary celebrations of US independence later this year, the people said. It is likely to cause consternation among Washington's allies, particularly centre-left governments such as Labour in the UK, which will be concerned that US government funds are being deployed to undermine their policies.

A legal asylum-seeker who works at Chipotle and plays music at a church in Maine went missing. His pastor searched and searched, eventually finding his abandoned car with the keys on the floor.

ICE grabbed him. No criminal record. No explanation.

So the President of the United States of America is posting to his personal social media network blatantly fake news videos that I'm pretty sure are AI generated slop. This one is supposedly about Gavin Newsom panicking that Walmart is pulling out of California (it's not).

He's reposting some rando MAGA account saying: More bad news for Gavin Newson, The world's largest employer Walmart is closing 250 stores in California citing $22 per hour minimum wage leaves them on competitive with their small profit margin, wewee that's a big number, this man has the fifth largest economy in the world and has a more than $20 billion budget deficit and he wants to be president of the whole United States and the sad part is there will be more than 60 million people that will vote for him. Desinformation kommer att spela en roll i det svenska valet. En central fråga blir hur mainstream journalistik hanterar det. Antingen bevaka det inte eller så kallar man det en lögn och går vidare. Allt annat förstärker desinformation genom att behandla den som legitima nyheter värda debatt.
