Absolutely wild pink nitrogen ribbon aurora burst last night here in Iceland. There was cloud cover, and I was worried the show would stay shrouded. Voila!

The purpley-pink & white ribbons are much closer to us in the atmosphere than standard green arcs, and are fast moving.

Cladonia fimbriata is very common #lichen in Britain, but how splendid to see in such profusion! Distinguished from other similar pixie-cups by 'golf-tee' shape, and by surface of uniformly farinose i.e. 'powdery' soredia. Very enjoyable first @harbourbirds.bsky.social cruise around Poole Harbour this morning. White-tailed eagles, glossy ibises, a bittern and a red-throated diver contributed to what I think was 52 species seen. Chuffed to pick out a little gull as well. #Birds #DorsetBirds #WildlifePhotography

BRENNAN: What are you going to do to force DOJ to comply?

MASSIE: The quickest way and most expeditious way to get justice for these victims is to bring inherent contempt against Pam Bondi. That doesn't require going through the courts. We're drafting that right now.

This past weekend saw the last of our river trespasses organised by our amazing Local Groups. The past month has seen 10 river trespasses take place across England - demanding greater access to our waterways, and pointing out that the Government’s pledge of a mere 9 river walks is inadequate.

Scotland has enjoyed a Right to Roam for decades, supported by a detailed code of access that helps people enjoy nature responsibly. We hope to learn from this and create a new system of fair and responsible access in England.

Why does a right to roam mean to you?

Currently only 8% of land in England has a ‘right to roam’ and only 3% of rivers enjoy an uncontested right of access – a major obstacle to community guardianship. We’re campaigning for that to change.

The Roding is London’s largest forgotten river. It endures every modern indignity: scythed by motorways and concrete bridges; choked with sewage and rubbish; canalised, fly-tipped, thickened with the polluted slime of London clay. It is a forbidding place to call home. youtu.be/7sjOGOguq5A
