Experimental evidence that students are more likely to contest grades when they are delivered by an evaluator with a female-sounding name.

"These findings suggest that women in evaluative positions face disproportionate resistance when delivering negative assessments."

I used to have to tell people this who didn't want to pay workers comp insurance. By this metric our entire agricultural system is illegitimate as well. This one rule should guide all policy and corporate rewards systems.
This has popped up on my feed again so your occasional reminder that, if your business cannot turn a profit when acting within the law, you don’t have a legitimate business

This is what I don't get. What kind of country do the ultra wealthy think they're going to live in?

Shops, restaurants, cute little towns will shutter if people are chronically ill or too poor from medical debt to live near those nice places & work those "small" jobs that keep our country running.

Not only this, but there's pretty much just a 4-6 month lapse between him saying something completely beyond the pale and tearing down the East Wing.
Respectfully, what’s the debate?

The president of the United States has called for the trial and execution of members of Congress in a manner that would make Charles I blush.

As a constitutional matter, I fail to see where there is room for reasonable disagreement about what happened yesterday.
President Trump’s recent statements accusing Democratic lawmakers of making “seditious” comments to military and intelligence community members have ignited a free speech debate.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

I've done some unexpected intergovernmental agreements before. It takes one really determined lawyer to get it started. This would be one heck of a sample of what Newsom can accomplish and I bet he's got the lawyers to start the ball rolling.
Dem states coulda done this but they refused for 15 years & two Dem presidents refused to even issue implementing rules.

Now among the biggest problems for Dems is voters refusing to believe they’ll actually do anything they promise.

Seems like now is the time to finally do something like this 👇
The ACA Has an Absolute Bombshell Hidden in It, and Dems Can Take Advantage of It

Anyone? Anyone? The tariff bill? The Hawley-Smoot Tariff Act? Which, anyone? Raised or lowered? Raised tariffs, in an effort to collect more revenue for the federal government. Did it work? Anyone? Anyone know the effects? It did not work, and the United States sank deeper into the Great Depression.
