I propose to make universal the old policy of the Blackfriars conference at the American Shakespeare Center:

If you do not end your paper on time, you will be forced to exit, pursued by a bear. Literally, a bear will come take your paper from you.

I see once again people are aggressively assuming my posts are about the US and their government, when, in fact, lots of countries have a government.

One would think a government keen for people to understand what things mean would not have repealed the Plain Language Act, but what do I know?

*"girls" here used for trope recognition, characters of any gender can play here!

I'm trying to track down the original report for this 70% figure - but it's looking like it was actually "up to 70% in several specific industries".
So now it's:
1. the government gloating about reducing costs for drivers at the same time as making things more expensive for Total Mobility Users
2. the Minister for Disability Issues saying 70% of jobs require drivers licence painting it as an issue w the driving test not disability discrimination

Someone posted to the local FB page about 4 pro choice people with activist pins and rainbow hair in Pak n Save having a go at them for being pregnant, and I never expected such down-with-cis-bus vibes in my local community.

Playing Wingspan with a new expansion I asked if hummingbirds counted as birds, was emphatically told "hummingbirds are birds" and my brain immediately did this.

I got a smart watch and it has a function where if you fall over it notifies the emergency services and I guess that's a setting for people who are _not_ dyspraxic.

That fucking councilor:
1) comparing having to listen to someone speak a language he doesn't understand to conversion therapy
2) implying it would be reasonable to expect a councilor to go to a church (but not a marae) as long as that church didn't do conversion therapy.

The absolute state of it.

On a family history deep dive and realising that GG Grandfather was actually very significant in football history but the living family (baby cousin a possible exception) tends to think of sport as some weird torture so no-one has really mentioned it beyond "he ran a football club or something".
