There’s nothing like a circle of women who want the best for each other. Women who strategize. Women who mediate between one another and manipulate the world with a unified, equitable objective. You were probably taught that this isn’t our nature. Society stole that from you. We are the best at it.

In news that the HHS should be shouting from the rooftops:

Availability of the RSV vaccine for pregnant people and RSV shots for infants lead to a 50% reduction in RSV-associated hospitalization of newborns during the last year! 🥳

Spread the good word, folks!

With health agencies collapsing, it's never been more important for all of us to play active roles in protecting each other's health.

A couple of easy things you can do:
1️⃣ Wear a well-fitting mask and distribute them to others
2️⃣ Spread word about updated vaccines and help others make appointments

The day started with tragedy with political violence in MN and instead of being scared, neighbors SHOWED UP to stand together at No Kings Twin Cities. We packed the Capitol Mall all the way to the Cathedral. Estimate 80,000+ right now. So proud of our state. #nokings #indivisible

Due to a shelter-in-place order and ongoing safety concerns following a shooting that targeted two elected officials, the No Kings protest in Northeast Minneapolis has been canceled.

Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the communities impacted by this horrifying violence.

It’s been a minute since we last attended a tech conference together (deeply extroverted + deeply introverted tech couple over here)!

#osn2025 was more fun with you there, @rmgebhardt.bsky.social 😘

"Are Passwords Like Skinny Jeans Now?" Assuming we're gonna talk about UX, etc? I was promised fashion + authentication but we'll see. #osn2025

Aaaand first talk in ~6 years done!

Passwords are kinda like skinny jeans: vintage with mixed-consensus on comfort.

Skinny jeans do not have serious digital privacy concerns though…

Had a blast diving into passkeys this morning at #osn2025 and ready to be an attendee for the rest of the day!

Say what you [reasonably] will about these holidays (and the excessive over-consumption) but I love the excuse to reflect on the season of motherhood I’m in.

Oh and to be clear, I still absolutely enjoy an occasional candy bar at midnight 😋
The way my retail habits have changed in ‘25 reminds me of what intermittent fasting did for me: just brought some awareness to how often I wanted candy at midnight.

Removing retail apps from my phone creates *just enough* of a barrier for me to be way more thoughtful before making a purchase.

Dusting off my speaking skills and getting back into the conference scene after 5 years. I can’t think of a better event than @opensourcenorth.bsky.social!

Now the real question is: will I be wearing my favorite skinny jeans to give this talk?? 😏
Thank you to Amy Gebhardt (@amygeb.bsky.social) for speaking at #osn2025!

On heavy days, @rmgebhardt.bsky.social & I often spend time sharing some fav/recent kid interactions; our kids are full of lil memorable nuggets that never disappointment

I mean sometimes *they* are the reason the days are heavy, but I’ll forever be grateful for the small bursts of ☀️ they bring us.

Favorite toddler quote of the week:

2yo came inside after being around a small bonfire and I told him:
“Oh! You smell like fire!”

E replied in his signature overly-animated lil voice: “I didn’t get bUrNed, mama!”

Still not over that children can bring dangerous infectious diseases* to school, but not peanut-butter sandwiches.

Yes, protect the kid with a severe allergy. Also protect the kid who has a higher-risk of hospitalization/complications from exposure to these illnesses.

This is how community works.
