8. We spent the whole weekend with our guests, involving everyone in a combined bachelor/bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, and post-wedding brunch.

7. We challenged many wedding traditions — I had my two brothers in lieu of bridesmaids, we read a disclaimer before our vows, found our first dance profoundly awkward, and we made sure Rick had a grand entrance and an escort down the aisle.

5. We were married in the “off season” in Martha’s Vineyard, a location we chose because it was easy(ish) for my New England family to attend but was a “neutral” destination spot (wasn’t a place that either of us actually had any ties to)

Took the kids to the model railroad museum on this chilly no-school day. Everyone benefited from a bit of time out of the house and my 2yo successfully masked the whole time (big milestone!)

Also yes.
Is this a terrible decision?
Maybe, but it’s bringing me a bit of comfort in the midst of A Lot.
