I think about this a lot 😭

Most years, I tend to value alone/quiet time most. This year, I’m realizing how much I love being able to see my kids try (and do!) hard things. I spend ~3hrs every Sunday on kid activities (swim, etc) and it was the best way to spend Mother’s Day today.

And now Target/Amazon just don’t get my business anymore. This boycott was for different reasons, but it has really shifted my whole way of thinking re: over-consumption, the need for instant gratification, etc.

I wonder how many other folks are feeling this and what the long term impacts will be.

It blows my mind that this was a decade ago and I am so grateful for @rmgebhardt.bsky.social. Between semi-regular marriage retrospectives, a consistent celebration of our individuality, and a whole lot of grace amongst the imperfection an chaos, I really am proud of us 🤍
