either too dark or too light
for today
I want to encourage
to quote of beauty and hope
of freedom and sanity

Twelfth Night, usually 5 January (though some regard it as the 6th), was a traditional time to wassail the apple trees in England’s cider counties, singing and blessing them for luck and a good crop. In parts of the West Country, Old Twelfth Night is still kept on 17 January.

ICYMI: My story from yesterday looked at the costs -- and scope -- of Operation Midway Blitz, including at least $100,000 for tear gas and related munitions at Broadview; $243,000 for Border Patrol helicopters; $19 million for Guard troops that stayed on bases; and $30 million for detaining people
As the Trump administration steadily hypes the benefits it sees from its monthslong immigration enforcement surge in Illinois, federal officials have been less eager to address the other side of the ledger: the fiscal cost of Operation Midway Blitz.
Cost of Operation Midway Blitz: $59M and counting
A Tribune review of court filings, databases and other public records detailing the scope of the incursion and typical costs shows how much the federal government has spent since September.

🌱 Just purchased from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange two packets of cotton seeds. I've never grown cotton but I think these will be fabulous in floral arrangements. Happy to receive growing tips!
